Miami Heat ‘Keep or Kick’: Mike Bibby

(When the lockout ends, the Miami Heat will have plenty of personnel decisions to make, on a roster where there are the Big Three and everyone else. This is the first in a series of evaluations on those who finished last season on the roster.) Contract status: Unrestricted free agent. Case for keeping: It hardly is an overwhelming endorsement, but Bibby was as good as any Heat point guard during the regular season. When he was making shots during the regular season it helped space the floor and alleviated ballhandling pressure on Dwyane Wade and LeBron James. Case for kicking: After a brutal postseason showing, anything Bibby would accomplish during the regular season would be overshadowed by doubts about where the playoffs would deliver him. If Bibby is looking to recover some of the millions he forfeited with his Wizards buyout, then it becomes a non-issue for the cap-strapped Heat. We say: Bibby would be fine for the regular season.
