When watching the highlights between the Portland Trail Blazers versus Miami Heat on Thursday night, it was hard not to think about Greg Oden.
Rip City is where Oden tore up his knees resulting in three microfracture surgeries and 82 total games played between the time the Blazers selected him number one overall in the 2007 NBA Draft and December 2009, when the 7-foot center blew out his knee in a home game against the Houston Rockets.
Watching Oden lay on the Rose Garden floor clutching his caved in left knee is a vivid memory that will never be erased.
In mid-March 2012, the Blazers sadly waived Oden.
Two months later the oft-injured big man (five surgeries in total to be exact) said he would sit out the 2012-13 season and instead focus on rehabbing while also taking classes to finish up his degree at Ohio State.
He has stayed true to that word.
But now the comeback is back on and Oden already has some pursuers in a number of teams, including the Miami Heat according...

Miami Heat forward Shane Battier’s resume includes being a lockdown defender, a decent spot-up three-point shooter, a complete class act and a terrible, horrible, awful singer.

You can see the latest of these awesome ally-oops below, which occurred in tonight’s game against...
Led by Mayor and former NBA player Kevin Johnson, the city of Sacramento continues to up the good fight to keep their Kings from moving. At a charity event on Friday, Johnson playfully asked LeBron James to purchase the team. James, who jokingly played along with Johnson’s plea, made his NBA debut in Sac-Town.
Sometime near the end of Friday night’s match up between the Blazers and the Warriors, NBA blogger Kevin Pelton tweeted the following:
“The Warriors are in for like a decade and a half of lamenting that Damian Lillard is from Oakland.”
A decade and a half may be a slight stretch, as Lillard will be 37 then, but Pelton’s point stands — again and again, Lillard continues...
What do you do when you’re the best player on the universe, have the ball, and a have a 20+ lead on the opponent? A 360 pass to your point guard that leads to a corner three, of course. H/T SBNationThe post LeBron James 360 Pass To Mario Chalmers (Video) appeared first on The NBA Mistress.
As you can clearly see (and hear) on this video as he covers "The Love Boat" theme song. This man has a very special gift. South Florida is blessed to have him.
By Dave Del Grande, Sports Xchange OAKLAND, Calif. -- Damian Lillard put on a show for his hometown fans in his Oakland homecoming, but his 37 points weren't enough as the Golden State Warriors held on for an entertaining 103-97 victory Friday night over the Portland Trail Blazers.
