PLAYERS: LeBron James
TEAMS: Miami HeatUtah Jazz
After LeBron James left last night’s game with cramps, the Internet exploded with “Michael Jordan would never leave the game with cramps” comments. Funny thing about that though – Jordan did ask to sit out during a NBA Finals game once…because of cramps. It was Game 4 of the 1997 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz, but very few people knew about the situation because of the lack of media back then. Grantland’s Bill Barnwell dug this up, via Roland Lazenby’s “Michael Jordan: The Life” It would later be learned that a Bulls team assistant had mistakenly replaced the players’ Gatorade with GatorLode, a heavy drink used for building carbs. “It was like eating baked potatoes,” explained trainer Chip Schaeffer. Down the stretch, Chicago’s players complained of stomach cramps and Jordan even asked to sit for a time, something he never did at a key moment. Jordan went on to return to the game but it was too little to late. The Jazz went on to win the game 78-73. People love to hate LeBron,

Add another opinion to the LeBron James-Michael Jordan debate. Former NBA forward Horace Grant, who won three straight NBA titles with Jordan and the Bulls from 1991-93, argued during an appearance on a Chicago radio station on Tuesday that his Bulls team could have easily beaten LeBron James’ current Miami Heat squad. “The Heat wouldn’t have had a chance,” Grant said,...

LeBron James takes a lot of heat after crampgate, does he deserve the criticism?

I love to hate on James like the next guy, and I love to say Jordan and Bird are better. But for LeBron's recent scandal.. I don't know what to think. Bird played in more than a few games in the old Boston Garden that were hotter than game 1 Thursday night. But I feel James would have gone if he truly could have. I've had some bad cramping, and I know I can't do much...

LeBron Rocks Air Yeezys at Finals Practice (Video)

When the Miami Heat took the floor this afternoon for practice before game two of the NBA finals, LeBron James feet immediately became a subject of discussion, and I don’t mean the precision of his footwork.   I’m not sure if practicing in the Air Yeezys will assist LeBron in avoiding anymore debilitating cramp-ups, but they sure as hell look good on the court. One thing...
