Michael Jordan really likes Jeremy Lin

Coming off a disappointing 33-49 2014-15 NBA season, Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan believes one offseason addition in particular will help turn the Hornets into a winning basketball team.

That player: Jeremy Lin.

"We just got Jeremy Lin, who I think is going to be our biggest acquisition," Jordan told the Shanghai Daily. "His penetration, his shooting capability, his point guard savvy, he can really pass the basketball, his energy about the game of basketball is something."

While Jordan may be high on Lin, the Hornets season hopes took a major blow when starting small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a separated right shoulder earlier this month in a preseason game against the Orlando Magic. The injury will likely keep Kidd-Gilchrist out for the entire 2015-16 NBA season.

Despite losing Kidd-Gilchrist for the year, the offseason additions of Lin, forward Nicholas Batum, and rookie Frank Kaminsky should give Hornets fans hope for the postseason. Batum in particular, who will now be the team's new starting small forward with Kidd-Gilchrist out, is expected to have a career year.

More notably however, if Jordan's evaluation of Lin is accurate, there just might be a chance we see "Linsanity" return to NBA arenas this upcoming season.
