Found February 21, 2013 on Next Impulse Sports:
February has been an interesting month for Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. A few weeks back, Bobcats fans watched in horror as the promising rookie lay crumpled on the floor, out cold after an unfortunate knee to the head from teammate Jeff Taylor. Gilchrist showed no signs of movement from the moment he hit the floor, and was eventually carried out on a stretcher. In addition to the scary on-court injury was a saucy off-court story that sneaked its way into the headlines during All-Star Weekend: Gilchrist had reportedly lost a game of one-on-one to Bobcats owner Michael Jordan. Whatever. We’re not here to talk about the past. We live in The Now, and what happened “Now” was this total destruction of Greg Monroe on Wednesday night. Get up, young fella. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist May Not Be Able to Beat Michael Jordan, But He Can Still Dunk Pretty Well (Video)

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist plays for the Bobcats, meaning he has to do something amazingly good or amazingly bad to get people’s attention. Last week, he did something amazingly bad when his 19-year-old body couldn’t take down just-about-50-year-old Michael Jordan. But this week, the rookie has redeemed himself somewhat with a stellar dunk. Kidd-Gilchrist, who is averaging 9.1 points...

Fantasy Basketball Rookie Report Card: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Photo Credit: Christian Petersen/Getty Images North America I first scouted Michael Kidd-Gilchrist back in 2008 when he was just a slender sophomore at St. Patrick’s High School. Playing alongside the likes of Kyrie Irving and Dexter Strickland, it was MKG who was the chief product of the hoops hype machine — the next big thing. He had all the physical gifts in the world and...

Charlotte Bobcats Complete Most Insignificant Trade of All Time

I’m so excited about the Bobcats trading Hakim Warrick to the Magic for Josh McRoberts! Not because I think the trade will matter much—seriously, Weird Al Yankovic albums have more significance than this deal—but because it frees me up from having to think about last night’s loss to the Pistons. Against Detroit, the Bobcats sandwiched [...]

Bobcats Trying To Deal Henderson For First Rounder

The Bobcats are looking for a first round pick for Gerald Henderson.

Michael Jordan’s Trainer Says He Would Be Bobcats Best Player Right Now

Michael Jordan just turned 50 and you would have had to have been in a coma to have missed that fact with all the celebration going on. Much of the debate the past week has been about what Jordan would do to LeBron James or any other player in the prime of Jordan’s career. The question now though is what would MJ do today, right now if he was the starting shooting guard for the...

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist dunks all over Greg Monroe (VIDEO)

At 22-34, this season hasn’t been kind to the Pistons.  But when you travel to Charlotte, you expect things to look fine and dandy as the Bobcats are a horrific 13-41.  And while the Pistons came away with a 105-99 win, it didn’t come easy – especially for Pistons big man Greg Monroe.  Monroe took some punishment from Bobcats’ rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. MKG defied...

Video: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist hammers home vicious dunk on Greg Monroe

Tweet When the Charlotte Bobcats selected Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with the second-overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, they knew they were getting a kid with a ton of athleticism and energy. He put his athletic ability on display on Wednesday night against the Pistons with this dunk: Greg Monroe probably had to call somebody and [...]

Bobcats trade Warrick to Magic for McRoberts

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- The Charlotte Bobcats acquired Josh McRoberts from the Orlando Magic on Thursday in exchange for Hakim Warrick in a trade involving two backup veteran forwards. The 6-foot-10 McRoberts, who played at Duke, has appeared in 41 games this season with three starts and is averaging 3.9 points and 3.7 rebounds. Warrick, in his eighth NBA season, was acquired earlier...

C's shortlist of big men: DJ White, Jerome Jordan, Louis Amundson and more

Breaking news: The Celtics are shockingly looking for big men to fill the two roster spots they have! (Yes, I'm having fun with those who thought the Celtics made a mistake by not trading for a big yesterday as if the league abounds with them.) Steve Bulpett has reported a shortlist of five names: From today's Herald, big man names C's have discussed: Jerome Jordan...

Walker, Henderson lead Bobcats past Magic

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- The last time the Charlotte Bobcats were in Orlando, an injury forced Byron Mullens to watch as his teammates scrapped their way to a narrow win. This time, he made sure his presence was felt. Mullens had 20 points and 12 rebounds, Kemba Walker and Gerald Henderson scored 24 points apiece, and the Bobcats survived a second-half comeback to hold off the Orlando...

CC video of the day: Kidd-Gilchrist has no mercy for Pistons' Monroe

When you are a 6-11 NBA center, the last thing you want happening to you is having a someone dunk on you and putting you on a poster. Unfortunately for Pistons' Greg Monroe, it happened to him last night courtesy of Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. In the fourth quarter, Kidd-Gilchrist went in the paint with one dribble, took his allowed two steps, went straight for the...

Michael Kidd Gilchrist Posterizes Greg Monroe (Video)

Just a few days after Michael Kidd-Gilchrist said that he lost a one-on-one game with Michael Jordan he pulls out one of the more impressive dunks of the NBA season.  Check him out in the video below Posterizing Greg Monroe of the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons would get the last laugh and beat the Bobcats 105-99 behind the 19 points of Monroe.  I would personally go with...
