Charlotte Bobcats forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist left Saturday’s game against the Houston Rockets on a stretcher after suffering a head and/or neck injury following a collision with teammate Jeff Taylor.
Kidd-Gilchrist was hurt when he was trying to block a Toney Douglas layup in the fourth quarter. Kidd-Gilchrist leaped to attempt the block and appeared to be struck in the head by Taylor’s knee.
Kidd-Gilchrist, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, remained on the ground for several minutes before being taken away on a stretcher. Reports say he did not move as he remained on the ground. He was later taken to a hospital.
