Jordan Hill says he was instructed by Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni to work on his outside shot this summer, including 3-pointers, to make himself a stretch 4, which will allow Pau Gasol and Chris Kaman to work in the paint. Entering his 5th season, Hill has yet to make a career 3-pointer. Last season, before injuring his hip, Hill shot 32.5% from 16-24 feet, according to NBA.com/stats.
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com:
“He talked about what I need to work on for this coming summer,” Hill told ESPNLosAngeles.com. “My jump shot — he definitely wanted me to work on my outside jumper.”
“That’s mostly what I’ve been focusing on this whole summer, not so much the post work because I know I can go down to the block and easily get an offensive rebound and putback…We got Pau Gasol that can focus on the paint and we got Chris Kaman that can focus on the block.
