The Los Angeles Lakers have had a long, drama filled season to date. After finally playing at a somewhat high level, they have climbed up to a playoff spot, currently at eighth in the Western Conference. With a team full of so many stars, it took a while for this team to figure it all out. Injuries and coaching changes certainly haven’t helped, but it’s clear that it took a while for this unique group of players to somewhat mesh. How much of this is on Kobe Bryant, a player who many have claimed is very difficult to play with? Mike D’Antoni came out and said this, following the team’s win without Kobe Bryant: Hey, Kobe … “We don’t have to be one-player dominant,” D’Antoni said. “That ball has to move, and when it does, we’re really good.” — KEVIN DING (@KevinDing) March 18, 2013 While D’Antoni probably isn’t taking a shot at Kobe here, he’s definitely hinting toward something. With a dominant big man in Dwight Howard, a point guard in Steve Nash who is very good at controlling a game and distributing, and such a proven scorer in Kobe Bryant, this team should be able to beat most teams on a nightly basis. They have played some of their best ball while not at full strength. We all know Kobe Bryant can be a bit of a, um, ball stopper. To put it nicely. -Mark Evans, Assistant Manager/Editor of Content Follow us on Twitter The post Mike D’Antoni: We Don’t Have To Be “One Player Dominant” appeared first on Pass The Pill - Kings of Hoops.
