San Antonio Spurs
With 6:16 remaining in the game on Thursday evening in Golden State, the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors were tied at 95. Spurs guard Patty Mills would go on his own 6-0 run by draining back-to-back three pointers that would eventually lead to a 107-101 Spurs win.
Mills, who led the way with 34 points and 12 assists, guided the Spurs to an NBA record13th 50-win season, as the Spurs finish the lockout season at 50-16. The Spurs also head into the postseason on a 10-game winning streak. They’re the only team this season to have three double-digit wining streaks.
Mills came out firing to start the game as he had 14 points in the first quarter. The Warriors however, would close the first quarter on s 15-4 run. The Warriors led by two points after the first quarter. DeJuan Blair got into the scoring mix by adding 10 of his 22 points by halftime. The pace would slow down just a bit for both teams as their shooting percentages began to drop. Then with time winding down, Mills...

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- For the second straight night, Patty Mills showed San Antonio he's capable of scoring in bunches.
The timing is good, too, with the Spurs racing into the postseason as the top seed in the West -- even though Mills will be back in a reserve role.
On a night San Antonio played without its top three players and coach Gregg Popovich, Mills looked a lot like...
Patty Mills had career highs of 34 points and 12 assists, DeJuan Blair added 22 points and 13 rebounds, and the short-handed San Antonio Spurs beat the Golden State Warriors 107-101 on Thursday night.
James Anderson added 19 points for San Antonio (50-16), which finished with the best record in the Western Conference despite having one of the league's oldest rosters. The Spurs...
One would think owning the best record in the Western Conference, having what can be arguably the deepest bench in all of the NBA, capturing another 50-win season, and owners of three double-digit winning streaks in a shortened season, the San Antonio Spurs would be the odds-on favorite to win the 2012 NBA title, right?
Well not according to Las Vegas oddsmakers who list the Spurs...
Patty Mills scored 27 points and the depleted San Antonio Spurs beat Phoenix 110-106 on Wednesday night in a game overshadowed by the fact it could have been Steve Nash's last in a Suns uniform.
The crowd stood and chanted ''We want Nash'' with about 5 minutes to go, leading coach Alvin Gentry to put the 38-year-old point guard in the game for a few plays before...
The San Antonio Spurs will begin their march to title number five this Sunday as they face the Utah Jazz in the first round and what is on Spurs fans minds is Utah's huge frontline with Paul Millsap, Derrick Favors and Al Jefferson.
It won't be the first time San Antonio's first round opponent has a size advantage. Last season the Grizzlies exposed the Spurs' weakness...
Back when the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs' rivalry was at its apex, Tony Parker and Devin Harris used to have fierce battles on the court and often, Harris would get the best of Parker.
However, that was then, this is now.
Since then, Harris moved on to play with New Jersey and now with the Jazz while Parker has been leading the Spurs to the best record in the Western...
The San Antonio Spurs have signed Bakersfield Jam guard/forward Derrick Byars.
The San Antonio Spurs 15th roster spot has been left open for quite some time, but they'll finally fill it with D-League swingman Derrick Byars, according to Ridiculous Upside's Scott Schroeder.
Byars, who was drafted out of Vanderbilt with the 42nd selection in the 2007 NBA Draft, spent this past season with the NBA D-League's Bakersfield Jam, where he averaged 15.2...
In honor of Metta World War.
Don't let people tell you that the San Antonio Spurs are old. It's a wives tale, urban legend, a myth. Sure, the perennial leaders of our team, Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, are seeing the sun approach the horizon of their respective careers. But the Spurs are not old. With an average age of 27.29 the Spurs are the thirteenth oldest (and the eighteenth YOUNGEST) team in the...
It’s the last game of the regular season for the San Antonio Spurs (49-16), and with the Western Conference’s top seed all locked up, it looks like we’ll get a repeat of the team we saw last night in Phoenix. The Spurs take on the Golden State Warriors (23-42) and former Spur Richard Jefferson tonight, in a game that could be an easy win even without the "Big Three...
#1 San Antonio Spurs vs. #8 Utah Jazz
Despite their tremendous success, the Spurs have remained below the radar for the entire NBA season. Every analyst talks about the Heat, Bulls, and Thunder, but the Spurs never seem to get the respect they deserve. Coach Popovich has done a tremendous job of resting Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili, so expect the Spurs’ big three...

The first four games of the best-of-seven series will be televised on FOX Sports Southwest in San Antonio Spurs TV markets. If games five and six are necessary, both also will be shown on FS Southwest.
