AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- The Detroit Pistons have shown a lot of improvement lately, thanks to the frontcourt trio of Greg Monroe, Jason Maxiell and Andre Drummond. Detroit’s big men were dominant once again in a 105-90 victory over the Orlando Magic Tuesday at The Palace. Monroe had 16 points and six rebounds while Maxiell and Drummond each contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Pistons (16-25), who have won nine of their last 13. Detroit out-rebounded Orlando 54-41, the seventh time during that 13-game stretch the Pistons have grabbed at least 50 rebounds. Monroe had 10 of his points in the third quarter, when the Pistons took control by outscoring the Magic 28-14. "He was fired up in that third quarter," Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said. "I never look at things from the offensive end. I look at it from the defensive end. Defensively, everyone needs to bring maximum effort. We can’t let anything or anyone impact our effort on the defensive end. That’s ...

Pistons fan has a massive Charlie Villanueva arm tattoo (Picture)

When it comes to crazy fans and athlete tribute tattoos, you never know what — or who — you might find. If social media has taught us anything, it’s that there’s a big enough fan out there for almost every professional athlete. Charlie Villanueva may not be one of the best players in the NBA, but that didn’t stop one Detroit Pistons fan from getting an incredibly-detailed...

Fan has Charlie Villanueva tattoo on arm

It isn’t often that a bench player that is eighth in scoring on his team, and horribly overpaid, ends up as a tattoo. Actually, it isn’t all too often that any basketball player ends up in permanent skin ink on person. But Charlie Villanueva of the Detroit Pistons ended up being forever inked on some Pistons fans arm. I’m not quite sure why anyone would ever want to do this...

What's with the Pistons bizarre continued domination of the Celtics?

Greg Monroe (middle) loves playing the Celtics. It's been more than a year since the Celtics beat the Pistons.  On December 30th, 2011 Boston knocked off Detroit 96-85 in their first game at the Garden last season.  Since that day the Pistons are 36-63 against all other teams in the NBA combined, but 4-0 vs. Boston.  In fact, in those four games the Celtics have never even...

The Pistons also finished with a 16-6 edge in offensive rebounds against...

Andre Drummond goes for 11 and 11; rookie under-owned in fantasy leagues

Do you like rebounds, blocks and steals? How about a high field-goal percentage? How about star potential? Then do I have a waiver wire pickup for you. Andre Drummond is just 37-percent owned in Yahoo leagues. That is extremely low for what the rookie out of UConn is doing on the court. In the Pistons' 105-90 win Tuesday over the Orlando Magic, Drummond scored 11 points...

Maxiell powers Pistons past Magic

AUBURN HILS, Mich. -- For years, Glen Davis has been a thorn in the side of the Detroit Pistons. Tuesday, Jason Maxiell played Big Baby right off the floor. Davis missed 11 of his 15 first-half shots, picked up a technical early in the third quarter and was benched for most of the second half as the Pistons beat the Orlando Magic 105-90. "Baby has been a difference-maker...

Pistons bully Magic in blowout

The signs were there that the game stood on the edge for either team with Detroit heading to the locker room up two points at halftime. The Pistons were not shooting the ball well and were giving up 3-pointers left and right to a strong-shooting Magic team. The Magic were giving up offensive rebounds and getting beat in transition after committing turnovers. Not to mention the...

Orlando Magic Continue Downward Spiral

The Orlando Magic (14-27) continued their downward spiral last night against the Detroit Pistons (16-25). The Magic were absolutely manhandled in the paint by Greg Monroe, Jason Maxiel, and rookie Andre Drummond. The Piston big men led the way by out-rebounding the Magic 54-41. The Magic were very much in the game until the third quarter when things got out of control. At the end...

Magic vs Pistons: Predictions

The Orlando Magic (14-26) will square off against the Detroit Pistons (15-25) tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST. The Magic won the first two games of the series; both of which were in the middle of a big losing streak in November. If the Magic want to have any shot at relevance this season, they will need to break their streak of 8 straight losses against sub-.500 teams. Their next three...
