To many Americans, former Los Angeles Police Department officer Christopher Dorner will be remembered as a killer and a monster. Last week, Dorner wreaked havoc in the LA area for 10 days during a killing spree in which he took the lives of two police officers and the daughter of a former police captain and her fiance. On Tuesday, Dorner shot and killed himself after officers cornered him at his hideout cabin.

Enter New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire, who was apparently touched by Dorner’s 20-page manifesto that he left on his Facebook page. In the rant, which the former officer addressed to America, Dorner explained how he felt he was a victim of institutionalized racism and urged the black community to stop “digressing.”

“Interesting,” Stoudemire wrote on his Twitter account before linking to the piece. “This is a must read!!”

A number of followers instantly began bashing Stoudemire for promoting the work of a murderer. Dorner said in his manifesto that he was fired for reporting a sergeant for brutality. The LAPD determined that there was nothing to the accusations, but the case reopened as the department was hunting for Dorner.

In Stoudemire’s defense, Dorner’s rant is certainly intriguing and covers a lot of ground. Most of the time we are left wondering what goes through a killer’s head that makes him or her feel that killing people will accomplish something, and Dorner’s manifesto helps answer many of the questions surrounding his bizarre case. Amar’e could have possibly benefited from phrasing his interest in the piece a bit differently but, as this fire extinguisher will tell you, he’s not much of a think before you act type of guy.

Will the Knicks rid themselves of Amar’e Stoudemire?

Since returning from his irritating knee injury, Amar’e Stoudemire is playing some of the best basketball we’ve seen, but how long will that last for the New York Knicks? There were times earlier in the season that Stoudemire looked old, slow and not involved in the games. Will he revert back to this? Maybe the Knicks should aim-high and sell at his highest potential?... Read more

The Knicks say Rasheed Wallace & Marcus Camby both were limited in practice. No contact. — Nate Taylor (@ByNateTaylor) February 19, 2013   Good news and not so good news. Rasheed Wallace and Marcus Camby were back at practice today. New York Knicks – A Mid-Season Reality Check

Prior to the season starting, any New York Knicks fan would have signed up for their current situation at the All-Star Break. It is hard to complain about 32-18, a 2.5 game lead in the Atlantic Division and still being in striking distance of Miami for the #1 seed (4 games back). Beyond that, Amare Stoudemire has had a relatively seamless transition into becoming a bench player,...

The Knicks Small Forward Dilemma

It’s no secret that the Knicks are notoriously slow starters in the 1st quarter.  It has become a growing trend where the Knicks open up with a dreadful 1st quarter, play a good 2nd quarter to cut the halftime deficit to a reasonable margin, trade leads in the 3rd and then hope to gain an edge in the 4th quarter and pull away.  Although the Knicks are statistically one of the...

James White brings in flight crew for dunk (Video)

James White brought out some of the best props we have seen for a dunk contest. The New York Knicks swingman, nicknamed “Flight” because of his incredible leaping abilities, brought out an entire flight crew as props for his first dunk attempt Saturday in Houston. White lined the attendants up in two rows and ran through the group of attendants on his way to dunking from a step...

Knicks Have Their Sights on Luke Ridnour?

Imagine yourself the General Manager of the NY Knicks. Sitting behind the desk and in charge of one of the most powerful teams in the NBA. If you look over the roster and look at your positives and negatives, you can see that 2 glaring needs are glowing. Love & Hip-Hop K Michelle Says JR Smith Went to the Bathroom, Then Left Her at Club

I have to be perfectly frank with you, as a “Player” I have never been that impressed with JR Smith, but as a “Playa”  he seems to know what he is doing. From Tahiry, Rihanna and others, JR is the NBA version of Black Dynamite.  K Michelle was singing love songs to him and saying she would do anything to sleep with him again, on various public forums.  Some guys might...

Keep it on the hush: Stephon Marbury sued over ‘hush money’

Sometimes, stupid is as stupid does… Stephon Marbury proves that theory correct. The ex-NBA star evidently didn’t understand that if you can read it and sign it, it’s a binding contract. Marbury promised his then chef Thurayyah Mitchell and jump off $900,000 dollars to keep their affair private. Mitchell had the agreement in writing, and filed a lawsuit against Marbury after...

Knicks mid-season report card

via bleacherreport.com With the All-Star break shortly coming to an end, I’m taking a look at each player on the roster and will evaluate their production thus far into the season. The Knicks started out the season as one of the few surprise teams in the league, once leading all of the Eastern Conference before coming back down to earth. They are currently the number two seed in...

Why Aren’t Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett Still Feuding?

Just five weeks ago, Carmelo Anthony hated Kevin Garnett.  We all know the story; Anthony and Garnett were going at it in a tightly contested game back on Jan. 8.  It got chippy and the two started jawing and before long, Garnett went below the belt like he normally does and allegedly said that Anthony’s wife “tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios.” Now I’m not married but if...

Kevin Garnett, Carmelo Anthony Team Up to Make Fun of Craig Sager’s Turquoise Suit (Video)

It seems the issues between Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony have been resolved. The two Eastern Conference All-Stars teamed up to make fun of TNT announcer Craig Sager‘s turquoise suit. Sager asked Anthony about the spat between the Knick and Celtic at practice, and Anthony pulled Garnett over to help him answer the question. “Honey Nut Cheerios” were not mentioned, but Garnett...
