Count Charles Barkley among the contingent that believes LeBron James should have never left the Cleveland Cavaliers in favor of South Beach and the Miami Heat.

Barkley recently sat down for an interview with Rachel Nichols on CNN and was asked whether he thought James was better off for joining the Heat in 2010. As always, Barkely was more than willing to voice his opinion.

"I thought LeBron should have stayed in Cleveland," Barkley said. "Just 'cause he got them rings now, he ain't no better. Think about the notion that, just because I didn't win a sporting event, my life is not successful. That's gotta be the stupidest thing I ever heard."

Of course, these comments are coming from a guy who never won an NBA championship himself. So it's only natural for Barkley to feel bitter toward those players who have.

Barkley was also asked if he would like to see James return to the franchise who he originally rose to stardom with.

"I think it'd be great for him to go back to Cleveland," Barkley said. "Number one, I don't think they are great fans in Miami. I thought they were great fans in Cleveland."

Needless to say, Barkley may not want to venture into Miami anytime soon.

  • Here is a guy who never won a ring. Tried to come back for a LOT less money to get a ring and failed. Has talked about "THE WHITE MAN" being in charge, but is married to a WHITE WOMAN". He is saying that he is doing well but the only way to get into publicity is by making STUPID remarks on anything to get him notice. It is getting old. He does not bring anything to the table. JUST HIM OFF ALREADY!!!!!!
  • Barkley should keep his mouth shut!
  • cleveland dont want that bum back...
  • @Ghost21....is your keyboard jumbled?
  • Nahhh.......... post toastie ghostie is just a Miami Heat fan that's all
  • barkley is just hatin he always talking but he never led his team to a championship i think he needs to just go away this is the same guy who spit on a little girl
  • LaBron is a morron, a want a be. He has to call him self a King because, no one else will. He not even on the same ballpark as Jordon or Kobe.
  • For once in my life I agree with Charles Barkley. Hell to the no, Charles didn't win a championship ring but he is still a living NBA legend and he has the balls to speak the truth... every now and again. LeBron sold himself out for a couple of rings, but I'm still a fan and will continue to fantasize that he'll return home, to Cleveland and slam dunk his traitor ass into a classic NBA championship.
  • Well said and I agree with most of it though I usually enjoy listening to Mr. Barkley. There is not a PC bone in that guys body,as he just says what he thinks and feels and lets the chips fall where they may. Don't get me wrong I like the really nice guys like Coach Mike Brown or Austin Carr and the Professional guys like Coach Popovich but I still appreciate Sir Charles edgy humor
  • Barkley should have stayed in Philly! For his comments, just consider the source.
  • LeBron has taken control of his career and financial well being from the start. You never here any negative rumblings about him as a responsible father, husband and teammate other than those losers in Cleveland who are upset a future Hall of Fame inductee didn't go down with the sinking ship. All hale the king for taking care of business from day one.
  • Come on-where would you want to live? In Cleveland or Miami and guess what? I live in both and my friends are in Cleveland and my team is in Miami. Miami is a HORRIBLE sports city, Cleveland is passionate about it sports-why? Because there is NOTHING else to do knuckleheads! Guess what-would I be at Lake Erie or South Beach? I like Lebron but if I win the lottery I am not going to stay in Cleveland, would you?
  • Cleveland sucks!! Lebron wanted to play with winners and a team, The Heat, that wants to win. The only thing Clevelander's do is whine.

Oh the Browns, Oh the Cavs. Come on now, Cleveland or Miami in Winter; Cool beaches or yellow snow! A snow shovel or a Mojito!

LeBron leads all in early All-Star returns

Expectedly, LeBron James leads all vote-getters in the early return of NBA All-Star Ballots. Unsurprisingly as well, Kobe Bryant is on pace to start for the Western Conference in the backcourt despite only making his return a week ago and appearing in just two games for the Lakers. That is to be expected, the All-Star voting remains more of a popularity contest rather than a...

Heat Check: Miami returns home with win over Cavs

MIAMI, Fla. -- A five-game homestand presented the Miami Heat with an opportunity to get back on track following a 2-2 road trip. The first half against Cleveland in Saturday night's homestand opener went according to that plan, as Miami shot 65 percent to build a 16-point halftime lead. Things turned in the third quarter, however, when the Cavaliers outscored Miami 28-16 to...

Cavaliers-Heat Preview

While the Miami Heat came up short in one of their toughest matchups to date, they've mostly had their way against LeBron James' former team. The Cleveland Cavaliers, though, have been playing well of late. The Heat look to continue their recent domination of the visiting Cavaliers, who seek a sixth win in seven games Saturday night. Miami (16-6) has dropped three of five...

Pacers win Tuesday was grand old night

The Pacers recorded a major victory Tuesday night when they erased a 13-point deficit and defeated the Miami Heat. It meant a few things actually. It legitimated the Pacers' strong start to the season and proved that they are in the Heat's league. LeBron James may consider them a true rival, but he cannot deny the Pacers stand as the biggest impediment to a fourth...
