From NESN:

Floyd Mayweather is known as a pretty high-stakes gambler.

He may not have reached Charles Barkley levels as of yet, but he’s certainly getting there. On at least a couple occasions, Mayweather has won money betting on the New England Patriots, and his fiancee, Shantel Jackson, has also been known to place a wager or two.

Still, betting on the Pats makes a certain amount of sense, since they’re usually a pretty safe choice most weeks. But betting on the Golden State Warriors to best the Miami Heat in South Beach? Mayweather may be getting a little reckless.

After the contest, which the Warriors did indeed win 97-95, Jarrett Jack was giving a fairly innocuous interview, when he probably let a little more slip than he should have.

“Floyd Mayweather put a little bug in my ear, told me he put a little bet on us. Floyd is no stranger to the casino, said he put $100,000 on us,” Jack told Comcast Sports Net.

Now, Dwyane may be on the decline, but the Heat are still a pretty good basketball team. Golden State? Not so much. So who knows if Mayweather had some tip the rest of us aren’t privy to, but that’s a pretty bold wager — one that certainly worked out well for him.

Barkley: Knicks are closer to a Playboy bunny than a rabbit this year

Charles Barkley has never been a big fan of the New York Knicks. As far as he is concerned, New York is a team that creates a ton of buzz every season only to fall short of expectations. Last season, he shot down rumors of John Calipari potentially returning to the NBA to coach the Knicks by saying Coach Cal would never be drunk enough to take such a horrible job. Sir Charles is...

Charles Barkley compared the Knicks to Playboy Bunnies

One of the things I love most about Charles Barkley is his candor. You may not agree with his assessments but he always speaks from an informed POV. Which means that his latest statements are definitely going to catch the ire of New York Knicks fans. Chuck compares the team to a Playboy bunny and [...]

Video: Mullin, Popovich poke fun of Barkely

A while back, TNT analyst Charles Barkley asked one too many questions of San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich regarding the game versus the Heat and in true Pop fashion, gave Chuck the "business." Warriors beat Heat on Green's last-second shot

MIAMI - If Jarrett Jack and the Golden State Warriors have their way, pretty soon even a dramatic, last-second win over the defending NBA champions won't be cause for too much celebration. The Warriors, who extended their win streak to five games, got a winning layup by Draymond Green with nine-tenths of a second left. The Heat'...
