Via Cosby Sweaters:
The Indiana Pacers appear to have righted their ship lately — winners of five games in a row, including a sweep of rare, non-lockout season back-to-back-to-back — and are now back on top of the Central Division (it also helps that the Chicago Bulls haven’t trotted out a healthy starting lineup in weeks). So what did Pacers stars Roy Hibbert, Paul George and George Hill do to blow off steam on their day of rest? They treated some lucky fans to a game of dodgeball.
The fans were representatives from Hibbert’s “Area 55″ and Hill and George’s “G2 Zone”, which are designated cheering sections at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Season tickets in both sections are awarded based on offseason fan auditions, who are expected to cheer wildly from opening tip to the final buzzer, and mostly for those players. Unfortunately for the 55ers, it appears the games were a little lopsided:
For the record, any team that has both Paul and George on their side has a VERY unfair advantage. I’m serious, its not even close to being fair. Our squad managed to tie them up in a best of three and then PG and George just turned it on on us in the deciding game.
That’s what happens when you declare your allegiance to a 7-foot, 2-inch stiff — instead of super athletic guards and forwards.
