The Los Angeles Lakers are worried following the team's 113-97 loss to Sacremento that Pau Gasol isn't in good enough shape to run the team's fast-paced offense, reports the Los Angeles Daily News.

Coach Mike D'Antoni noticed "Pau didn't have his legs," after playing 37 minutes.

"Pau is used to laboring up the floor and coasting a little bit," Kobe Bryant said. "In this offense, we have to put the motor on the first few steps we move up the court."

Gasol, 32, finished Tuesday's loss to the Kings with only eight points on 3-of-10 shooting and one offensive rebound.

"I don't know if it's extremely physically demanding." Gasol said. "It's an offense that you have to move and have to be on the go and get to your spots run to your spots and find some good flow out there that we really haven't reached consistently. The offense will evolve and will be better."

  • Pau's lack of muscle has been evident for a long time. Why don't you team-mates lock him in the gym & don't let him out until he starts working out once in a while?

  • Kobe should be the last person to accuse anyone of coasting. He plays almost zero defense. Watch him guarding space in almost any game. It's usually his guy shooting the uncontested 3's or making the backdoor layup. And then he yells at a teammate for not picking up his man. I guess if Pau didn't have to defend and rebound in the post where it's far more obvious if you're slacking off, then I guess he could rest up like Kobe, saving all his energy for shooting....

Mike D’Antoni benched Pau Gasol because he wanted to win the game

While some members of the Los Angeles Lakers may be happy with the hiring of Mike D’Antoni as the team’s head coach, Pau Gasol surely is displeased. The four-time All-Star has experienced two of his poorest statistical games this season in the last two Lakers contests — both losses. Gasol also found himself on the bench for the entire fourth quarter of the 106-98 loss to the...

Kobe impressed with Taylor's 138-point night

That's crazy," Bryant said when told of the feat following the Lakers' 95-90 victory over...

Kobe Bryant has bestowed upon Steve Nash one heck of a terrific nickname

Things haven’t worked out quite as well as everyone thought they would for the Lakers this season.  After bringing in Dwight Howard and Steve Nash in the offseason, the team was slow to start the season, which ended up costing head coach Mike Brown his job.  Nash meanwhile is out indefinitely with a non-displace leg fracture, which means Kobe Bryant has picked up the slack in...

Morales: The case of the misused, misplaced, and just plain missed Pau Gasol
