PLAYERS: LeBron James
TEAMS: Miami Heat

Via Sports-Kings:

Still glowing from his first championship, LeBron was heading to the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove just before bride, Jamie Kolnick, was about to tie the knot with her soon-to-be husband Shaun. LeBron was at the Ritz to meet with a reporter from Sports Illustrated. Then came a moment that very few, if any, can claim; LeBron would take a pre-wedding photo with the newlyweds. Wow, talk about a story for your grandkids! Better yet, LeBron continues to prove the naysayers wrong, as he improves his once floundering image.

According to the Huffington Post:

It would be tough to upstage a bride as pretty as Jamie Kolnick, but the glowing Heat fan met her match Saturday in Miami’s freshly crowned narrative-slayer, LeBron James.

The NBA champion of all of two days happened to be meeting a Sports Illustrated reporter at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove just before Kolnick tied the knot on the property, and the Miami native and new husband Shaun were able to snag the pre-wedding snap of a lifetime — never mind that eager onlookers uploaded cell phone photos of the bride to Facebook before she’d even walked down the aisle.

“I was like, ‘Who cares? It’s a photo with LeBron!’ It was really unexpected and exciting,” said Kolnick. “Shaun was like, ‘That’s enough! We don’t need to get married anymore.’” [...]

“It was funny, because the bride’s brother was just dying, he was beside himself with excitement,” [wedding planner Jen] Schwartz said, laughing. “And at some point, she looked at him and said, ‘Okay, you’re more excited that LeBron James is here than you are for my wedding!’”

I think I speak on the behalf of all dudes across America when I say we’d all feel more excited that LeBron was at our sister’s wedding, opposed to our sister actually getting married on her most important day. Unfortunately for the bride, the talk of the ceremony was probably about LeBron James the rest of the day.

  • Yeah, that was nice of Lebron, they all seemed like they liked each other. Funny
  • Gee Lebron, These two are going on to their miserable lives whiole you go home to you money and mansion. Nice of you to stopp and pay a little attention to the common folk.
  • I think as long as the couple wanted their picture taken with Lebron, and he was willing, what was the harm? It was very nice of him to do it, so why all the static? I personally wanted the Celtics to win, but you don't see me bad mouthing Lebron. I believe it was a very nice jesture, thanks Lebron for making their special day even more eventful, you're a very good person for doing that.
  • That was great , LeBron has always been a very nice young boy, grew up in Akron Ohio..Now a very nice young man.. I'm not suprised he did this !
  • It must be very frustrating to you to see someone who has talent make it in this world jelousy is a very debilitating state it even affects "your mentality" get a life!!!!
  • Say whatever you feel about Lebron James, but it wont take away his MVP trophy nor his Championship Ring. He is a humble man and I will continue to pray that he gets many more rings. I love Lebron and Im so happy he is Playing for the Heat. Some people need to get a life and leave Lebron alone with the pessimistic rants. I love the Heat and Lebron good looking out on the wedding photo. God Bless and keep Lebron and the entire Miami Heat team and their families
  • I don't know what LeBron you have seen...the one I have is not humble at all.
  • am sooo happy for Lebron James. The guy who has never raped or being accused of raping anybody (see Kobe Bryant and Ben Roethlisberger). The guy who has not killed dogs (see Michael Vick). The guy who has never been accused of DUI or for possession of marihuana (see……MULTIPLE EXAMPLES IN PRO SPORTS). Fans can forgive players who cheat on their wives (see Kobe Bryant again) or brake the law. But don’t you dare go on ESPN and raise money for POOR AND SICK CHILDREN. Don’t you dare go on national television to raise money and help children. America won’t forgive you for that. America would rather forgive a rapist or a criminal than a guy with a CLEAN RECORD. Hypocrites!!!!!! It doesn’t matter anymore. Who cares now? The King has a ring and nobody can or will take that away from him. Many of you are a bunch of losers. Lebron has a ring and he is going to have a nice and beautiful summer………Have I mentioned the guy never broke the law?
  • You can be a completely law abiding citizen...and still be a jerk. I give him credit for trying...
  • LeBum has been questionable at best since his high school days in Akron! First, he was accepting free merchandise from stores at Tower city which got him suspended from playing in playoff games in high school. Then, Braylon Edwards had him pegged as scum well before us when he blasted LeBums friend in the face downtown over an arguement where LeBum was trash talkin! So I cant believe were talkin about the same guy. Btw I believe you misspelled break
  • Lets be sensible here when you are in high everyone has done stupid things they are not proud off, but that does not determine the man you become and in my opinion he has become a man who deserve better than what he is getting
  • I totally agree with you. All these haters need to leave Labron alone the man didn't do anything wrong and more than half of you don't even know why you don't like Labron. I Love him, his fiance love him, his mother loves him, his kids love him and his fans love him and that is all that matters.
  • Speak to me Oh toothless One,
  • He has a very LONG way to go to change his image...
  • I live close to Akron, Ohio. I think everyone should give Lebron a break! He grew up tough and has a mom who loves him and he loves. He is a good young man and he is an awesome basketball player, no one can take that from him with their comments. Consider how young he was when he became pro - that was a lot to handle, so he made some "media" mistakes, so what? He does a lot of good for a lot of people. The mistake made was that People thought he was going to stay with Cleveland forever, please, give me a break! No one would have.
  • Can't stand the Heat ownership or whoever advises Lebron. They ruined his image with that disgusting "Decision" idiocy and the nonsense that followed. I will say this though. The finals between OKC and the Heat showed alot of class on the court. Best moment was Lebron telling some jerk on the Heat to back off and show respect when they had that huge lead in the last game and the goofball was waving his arms to the crowd with alot of time left. Other than that, the players had more class and respect for each other than the fans did. If all of the NBA showed as much class as these two teams I might watch more than just the finals. Sadly though the rest of the league are a bunch of loudmouthed thugs playing glorified street ball. As for Lebron, he's right, he did earn this championship. He played great and earned my respect too.

  • LeBum, hasnt matured in the 2 years in Miami. He has played 2 years of damage control!
  • With that 'gift of a lifetime' tag on the story, I thought maybe he paid for the wedding. Taking a picture with them....WOWWEE..nice, but if he hadn't, could you imagine the bad publicity THAT would have created...NO BIG DEAL..
Heard he and Dwayne Wade had a $200k bar bill the night of the clincher....come on, KING...spring for at least a round for the bridal party. He needs me as his publicist...since I can't stand him and would know what he needs to win over the haters (I don't HATE him, just don't like him)
  • I'm sure he stays awake at night lamenting the fact that you don't like him
  • Everyone who needs to rip on lebron - Does the word "jealous" come to your heads?? Just askin!!

  • Thats was cool of LeBron,Kobe would have blew them off
  • I,m suprised they didnt call afoul on the Bride. Usually anyone that gets that closer to him the call a foul. If that was Wade he would have fallen on the ground and starting complaining to tha Chaplain. Both will always be losers
  • it's still all about him..he is the biggest person in the photo. Want to do something nice, pay for at least part of the wedding.
  • You with all your negative comments let me just make one thing clear you can put Labron down and say how much you don't like him but did that stop him from winning a championship no, did it stop him from doing it with class no. Don't you get it the more you people hate on Labron the better he becomes he is feeding of your negativity. So if you want to spend your miserable lives hating on Labron go ahead but remember you are making him better and better. I think Labron is a nice, decent and respectable young man and he deserves to be treated as such. No one player stays a one team forever and he did what anyone would have done. LEAVE LABRON ALONE!
