Myles Powell Leads Way as Blue Coats Halt Cleveland Charge

Myles Powell and the Delaware Blue Coats began a five-game home trip that will close out the regular season for the 76ers‘ G League affiliate. 2021 first-round pick Jaden Springer would miss tonight’s game due to a hip injury. Sixers’ two-way player Myles Powell led the way for Delaware from the jump, finishing with 26 points. Though he came off the bench, Powell showed early and often that he was the engine for the offense in tonight’s game.

Early it seemed as though the teams were in for a long, hard-fought battle as they went back and forth throughout the quarter. The two teams finished the first by a score of 21 to 18 in Delaware’s favor. However, come the second quarter, it became clear that this would be a much more lopsided event than the first quarter would have one figured.

Myles Powell‘s 12 first-quarter points were the only reason the Blue Coats held the lead after one. The rest of the team struggled from the field early, with no other player making more than one basket in the quarter. Once the second quarter began, though, the Blue Coats took over.

With an impressive 38 points in the second quarter, Delaware gained control of the game. While Myles Powell impressed once again with eight points, it was more of a balanced effort by the Blue Coats. Aaron Henry and Shamorie Ponds combined for 13 points as they began to find their shot, and the Blue Coats pulled away by the half.
