The New York Knicks saw a bizarre couple weeks come to a halt Wednesday, as they pounced on the Blazers for a 121-79 victory at the Garden following Coach Mike D’Antoni’s resignation. The dominating win began the Mike Woodson era in the Big Apple. Before loudly putting an end to their six game losing streak, it was clear the Knicks were reeling and no one appeared able to stop the bleeding. A change was needed, and whether or not that change ultimately should have come from the coaching staff, Woodson is now in charge ready to a new culture in New York. Coach D’Antoni certainly elevated the talents of many of his players, helping the likes of Jeremy Lin, Jared Jeffries, Steve Novak, and of course, Amar’e Stoudemire, shine on the court. Though D’Antoni’s system and philosophy certainly had its positives during his tenure’s ups and downs, who’s to say Woodson will not have a similar effect on his own set group of players? While the media and fans alike are focusing on Carmelo Anth...

Linsanity could be making its final run on Broadway. Knicks Shouldn’t Wait For Phil Jackson To Phil The Void

On Wednesday afternoon at approximately 1 p.m. EST, Mike Woodson received a knock on his office door. From there he was immediately whisked away by Secret Service (who could probably execute a solid zone defense in a crowded arena) into a black Cadillac and later sworn in as New York Knicks head coach by James Dolan aboard a private jet.

Jeremy Lin will likely have a reduced role under Mike Woodson

Jeremy Lin was able to enjoy so much success with the Knicks when he was inserted into the starting lineup because of Mike D’Antoni’s system. D’Antoni’s offensive system is notoriously catered toward guards, so one concern for Knicks fans now that Mike Woodson has taken over should be how Lin is going to be utilized. One thing seems certain: he will be used less. “It will...

Pacers splutter against Knicks

Not much to say other than...well, let's just say I didn't even both finishing the game. It was one of those nights where the team just looked out of sorts and lacked energy and didn't defend and couldn't hit open shots or free throws and kept getting blocked at the rim. The Knicks busted the Pacers' horrendous defense wide open from the first quarter...

Ouch, That Was Quick

Apparently people were surprised on Wednesday when New York Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni suddenly resigned, but something was obviously going to happen. The Knicks were 18-24, barely hanging on to a tie for the 8th playoff spot in the Eastern Conference despite last season’s huge trade for Carmelo Anthony and the addition of Tyson Chandler. Also, there’s that Jeremy Lin kid...
