NBA Suspends Ron Artest. But who will help him change?

The NBA has suspended Ron Artest for seven games after he beat down the Oklahoma City Thunder’s James Harden.

There’s two things about that statement. The first is that at this moment it’s hard to even type the name Metta World Peace after what he did to James Harden.

The second is that what happened wasn’t a hard foul or lapse of judgment. He sought to and purposely took Harden out. Let’s move on.

  • This for me was the worst moment to watch a game thats suppose to be enjoyed for all the reasons save one sheer act of brutality by Ron Artest, And that makes the question how many name changes? team changes? life changing acts is enough? before the commissioner, the NBA players and most important the young fans give Ron Artest what he needs and thats out of the game of basketball period. You can not tell me that this slap on the wrist seven game suspension sends the right signal to the future gamers at any level, You might think that my desire to see him out of basketball is based on just this act alone but wait a minute! this guy has 12 other foul acts to his credit, so when is enough enough? I have played and watched this game for 55 years, lived in some of the most high crime areas and seen some brutial acts, But this seems to say that it's ok because this sells ticket's and the fans wants it, could it be that the game itsself is made less important to justify the need for Ron Artest? I have decided to take a permanant leave from the game i loved to play and watch, Because it used to be the NBA but now seems like MMA, To bad....

  • Least we all forget this is the state of mind we American sports fans find entertaining so who cares if this is the message we teach our children that the world owes them everything and deserves nothing of value in return, To have this type of response by the league's top brass makes the stink linger over this game, I watched a Bulls player get a season ending injury and no one hit him today it really showed the that the game in itself is tough enough with out adding Ron Artest attitude and elbows, I must side with Purplexed, the league is so wrong to allow this and respond so weak.
