BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Joe Johnson snapped out of his early-season shooting slump by scoring 25 points and keying a big second-quarter run, and Deron Williams added 26 points and 10 assists, leading the Brooklyn Nets to a 114-101 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Barclays Center on Tuesday night. The Nets (4-2) collected their third consecutive win, while the Cavaliers (2-6) lost for the fourth straight time. Brooklyn blew open a close game in the second quarter, outscoring the Cavs 35-12 to hold a 22-point lead at the break. The Nets then coasted home for the win, only their second blowout victory. Prior to Tuesday night, only one game between the two teams over the past 12 featured a double-digit victory margin. Besides Johnson and Williams, the Nets received 23 points from Brook Lopez. Nets salute Dr. Dre with special apparel

Nowadays Brooklyn (particularly the Park Slope neighborhood in which the Barclays Center resides) is more closely associated with indie music and hipsters than hip hop, but it’s still a community indebted to the rap community. So, leave it to the Brooklyn Nets to venerate Dr. Dre. Dre’s 1992 solo debut, entitled The Chronic, is one of hip hop’s all-time great records and gold...

Cavaliers (2-5) at Nets (3-2) - Game 8

OPENING TIP In the NBA, we have a tendency to overrate some of the games biggest stars. That may be what the Brooklyn Nets have done with Deron Williams. Now, make no mistake, Williams is an All-Star. He can win games for you from the point guard position. But hes probably not a No. 1 option, even if the Nets try to promote him as such. Or more accurately, hes probably not a No...

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Joe Johnson knew that he was a much better shooter than the one who shot 36 percent during his first five games with the Brooklyn Nets. So in the morning shoot-around before the Nets took on the Cleveland Cavaliers Monday night, Johnson concentrated on finding his rhythm and touch once again.
