Follow me on twitter: @a_santiago1517 The Nets lost their second preseason game on Saturday night to the Detroit Pistons 99-88. It was a tough night for the Nets on the court as they had both offensive and defensive lapses throughout different times of the game. The Nets still have a ways to go if they want to compete for a championship. One of the biggest concerns tonight was the on the defensive side of the ball. The Nets struggled defensively, especially in the paint. This was a problem the Nets had in their first preseason game as they surrendered forty-six points in the paint, and tonight gave up thirty-two. The Nets have to do a better job of boxing out and rebounding as well as they were out-rebounded 46-28. On the offensive side of the ball, the Nets continued to struggle from the free-throw line. The team shot a poor 56.6% from the line which is inexcusable. Many games are won and loss from the free throw line, and at that point, it all reflects on the individual to cash in on his free throws. It’s understandable that this team is a work in the progress, but these simple things they have struggled with are fundamental things to be fixed. The Nets played Joe Johnson and Brook Lopez up until the third quarter, meanwhile Garnett and Pierce sat out the whole second half. On a bright note, Andrei Kirilenko had another solid game despite struggling from the charity strike. Kirilenko ended the night with four points, four steals, two rebounds, and an assist. The Nets will play their next preseason game on Monday as they will travel to take on the Philadelphia 76ers. – Thanks for reading!
