Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries will miss the next two games with an abdominal strain, coach Avery Johnson told reporters Tuesday. Humphries won't face the Boston Celtics on Tuesday afternoon and will skip Wednesday's trip to Milwaukee for a game against the Bucks. Johnson said he will be re-evaluated when the Nets return. The 27-year-old has started 20 of the 25 games he's appeared in this season and has averaged 7.1 points and 7.4 rebounds.

Kris Humphries Out With Abdominal Strain

Just two days after learning he was getting yanked out of the starting lineup for the foreseeable future, Kris Humphries was inactive for Tuesday’s game against the Celtics after an MRI taken Monday revealed a mild abdominal strain. Humphries wasn’t expected to make the late-night trek with his teammates to Milwaukee, where they meet the Bucks Wednesday night. “They’ll re...

Bucks seek home win vs. Humphries-less Nets

The Nets may have moved to Brooklyn and added Joe Johnson, but their problems against the Milwaukee Bucks did not end when these teams met earlier this month. The Bucks proved to be superior in the backcourt in that contest and have now won 12 straight over the Nets heading into Wednesday night's meeting at the Bradley Center. Milwaukee won 97-88 at Brooklyn on Dec. 9 in the...

Kris Humphries Benched for Non-Injury Reasons in Nets' Win

For the most part, a player getting no minutes in an NBA game means one of three things.  He is either injured, he is getting rested, or he is suspended.  None of those three things were the case for Kris Humphries of the Brooklyn Nets.  He was simply benched for basketball reasons says coach Avery Johnson. Andy Vasquez of The Record reports that Johnson benched Humphries as...

Avery Johnson Benches Kris Humphries For Entire Game Against Sixers

Kris Humphries was summoned into Avery Johnson’s office prior to the Nets’ 95-92 win over the 76ers Sunday, and the Nets coach delivered some sobering news to his usual starting power forward. “He just said he was starting Gerald [Wallace] and it was going to be inconsistent for me for a while,” Humphries said. “I really didn’t know it was going to be a DNP, but you’ve...

Deron Williams Will Miss Wednesday’s Game With Bruised Wrist

Deron Williams, who spent much of Christmas with his right wrist wrapped, will not play vs. the Bucks Wednesday night. Williams has a bruised right wrist, according to the Nets. He has had wrist issues since arriving in New Jersey in February 2011, undergoing surgery to remove bone chips and scar tissue that April. Williams has not blamed his wrist issues for his woeful shooting...

New-look lineup guides Nets past Sixers

NEW YORK -- With the Nets struggling on both ends of the floor for the entire month of December, Brooklyn coach Avery Johnson decided to change things up a little as his team faced the Philadelphia 76ers at home Sunday afternoon. Johnson benched starting power forward Kris Humphries, moved Gerald Wallace from small forward to power forward and inserted little-used reserve Keith...

Kevin Garnett Describes Heated Exchange With Gerald Wallace, Confused by Forward’s ‘Shenanigans’ (Video)

Gerald Wallace‘s gift for Kevin Garnett this Christmas came in the form of a fistful of shorts — a present KG wasn’t too thrilled to receive. Wallace and Garnett had a rather heated exchange during the fourth quarter of Tuesday’s matinee clash between the Nets and Celtics. Garnett tried to hold Wallace up after the Brooklyn forward was fouled in the paint,  but instead of...

Brandon Jennings scored 25 points, Monta Ellis added 20 points and a season-high six steals, and the Milwaukee Bucks beat the short-handed Brooklyn Nets for the 13th straight time, 108-93 on Wednesday night. Brook Lopez had 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Nets missed a chance to get back to .500 on the road (6-7) and lost their third straight. The Nets were without starting guard...
