The Sixer’s search for Rod Thorn’s replacement is said to have a front-runner, Tom Penn a former Portland Trail Blazer executive. Penn, who lasted worked in 2010 as Portland’s VP of Basketball Operations is said to be a “master capologist”. His resume also includes a seven-year stint with the Memphis Grizzlies where he served as the teams Assistant General Manager for some of that time.

In a off-season that has brought us mediocre players, this is another mediocre move by the Sixers (this assessment I am being generous). Portland and Memphis have not been exactly power houses of the NBA in the past decade, so to say Penn will bring in talent that will help the Sixers to the next level is a struggle.

If or when the Sixers hire Penn, I am very interested to hear how he plans on using his skills as a “capologist” to lure big name talent to the Sixers.Similar Posts:
