As a whole, there probably aren’t tough athletes in the country than hockey players. They sprawl out in front of 90+ mile per hour slapshots without flinching. They take pucks and high sticks to the face, go to the locker room for stitches and return within the same game. So when it comes to questioning other athletes’ levels of toughness, hockey players have free reign.

When LeBron James went down like a ton of bricks in Game 4 Tuesday night, many originally thought he was suffering from something pretty serious. He had to be carried off the floor and wasn’t able to put weight on either leg. James was diagnosed with leg cramps. And when it was announced during the broadcast, hockey players teed off on Twitter.

Winnipeg Jets right winger Blake Wheeler:

Anaheim Ducks center Nick Bonino:

Dallas Stars defenseman Alex Goligoski:

Scott Valentine of the Milwaukee Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators:

Edmonton Oilers phenom Taylor Hall (who took a skate to the face last season):

Needless to say, hockey players weren’t too impressed by LeBron needing to come out of the game and not being able to return. Hockey players drink Pedialyte between periods. LeBron was just equipped with water and Gatorade. The Thunder will probably need a return of the cramps for James to get back into the series.
