Lamar Odom might be gone, but the Dallas Mavericks have not forgotten. The team voted "no" is sharing their allotted playoff bonus money with Odom after they were swept out of the first round of the playoffs by the Oklahoma City Thunder, reports The Dallas Morning News. The team's playoff bonus money is 14,000 per player. Odom was acquired during the offseason in a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers and the reigning sixth man of the year was expected to be a key contributor for the defending NBA Champions. He was anything but. Odom was put on the inactive list on April 9th after averaging career lows of 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds during his 50-game stint. He also shot a career-low 35.2 percent from the field. The team still hopes to trade Odom in the offseason.

Of course Lamar Odom won't get a share of Mavs' playoff money

The Dallas Mavericks have decided they will not give Lamar Odom a playoff share, about $14,000. It was a players vote following Dallas' first round sweep at the hands of the Thunder that determined Odom would miss out on the money. The team had already banished Odom after a season of ups and downs, but mostly downs. Circumstances in his personal life made it a tough go for Lamar...

Lamar Odom’s payoff bonus vetoed by Mavs teammates

Lamar Odom has a rough stretch over the past few months both professionally & personally. While the professional struggles can only be viewed relatively speaking given that any of us would love to be in that situation, his personal challenges were legitimate. His former Dallas Mavericks teammates added a bit of salt to the wound [...]

Why Pay Lamar? He’ll Just Spend It On Skittles Anyway

The Mavericks elected not to pay Lamar Odom his $14 thousand playoff bonus, basically because he quit on the team. I’ve got a theory as to what held Lamar back this season – and no, it’s not his obnoxious, 6-foot-8 dinosaur wife. It’s the fact that he eats more candy each morning than a ******* kindergarten class does in a calendar year. Hershey’s white chocolate cookies...

Lamar Odom not to get playoff share from Dallas

Lamar Odom has had one hell of a year in the worst way possible. Almost traded to the Hornets — trade was nixed by the league — then being emotional over that wanted a trade anyways and was sent to Dallas. Lamar suffered some personal issues and was a non factor for Dallas. He was [...]

Lamar Odom will play for Los Angeles next season

Although Lamar Odom was dismissed from playing for the Dallas Mavericks on April 7th of this year, he still has one year left on his contract. And if Odom is still on the Mavericks' roster, or any roster for that matter, on June 29 then that team will be responsible for the full $8.2 million that he is due to make next season.Odom can be bought out for only $2.4 million though...

Nowitzki had high hopes when Odom joined

When Lakers coach Phil Jackson decided to retire after the Mavericks defeated Los Angeles in the playoffs last season, there was widespread speculation that Kobe Bryant would have a say in who would become the new coach. In other words, many thought the Lakers brass would check with Bryant before naming Jackson's replacement. While that reportedly did not happen, the thought...

Revamped Mavs exit playoffs

When the Dallas Mavericks returned home for Game 3 of this first-round series, they greeted fans with royal blue T-shirts bearing the slogan, "All-In." It was a take-off on owner Mark Cuban's question to Lamar Odom in the halftime locker room during a game in Memphis in early April. In truth, many of the players didn't believe the owner was "all in...
