Steve Novak believes he can return to the New York Knicks' lineup for Game 3 on Saturday against the Indiana Pacers.
Novak has been suffering from back spasms since Game 5 of the Knicks' first round series against the Boston Celtics.
“Yeah, I mean right now we think Game 3,” said Novak.
Despite missing Game 6 against the Celtics on Friday and Game 1 against the Pacers on Sunday, Novak has felt progress during treatment and told the media no MRI will be necessary.
“No, because if it hadn’t gotten better we would have, but each day it’s gotten better,” said Novak. “We think we know that it’s tissue, it’s not a disc or anything like that.”
Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith have struggled shooting the ball recently and Novak believes his return would help space the floor for both to operate.

If Knicks guard Iman Shumpert isn’t catching crazy one-handed putback dunks (GIF below), he’s apparently rocking some fly-a$$ shoes. TNT’s Rachel Nichols captured Shump’s Adidas shoes with a photo she posted to Twitter: Shoe game: Knicks’ Iman Shumpert (@i_am_iman) twitter.com/Rachel__Nichol… — Rachel Nichols (@Rachel__Nichols) May 8, 2013 The Knicks evened up the...
This has made me sick to my stomach all year long. Knicks fans, which happen to be the worst kind in the NBA, have continually bragged about how great their team is. Some even think they have a chance to take down the Heat, which may be more ridiculous than Carmelo stealing a first place MVP vote from LeBron. To start off, I will give credit where it is due, a 54-28 record along...
Pacers and Knicks Battle
Since Sunday I have been thinking about this Knicks team and their future in the NBA playoffs. Many Knicks fans are adamant that the Knicks will win this series and challenge the Miami Heat for the ECF title with the right to represent the East in the NBA Finals.
However, there are many fans like myself that are realistic. I understand basketball and what...
Knicks guard J.R. Smith has done a pretty good job of trying to avoid meltdowns and becoming a distraction to his team. In the last week though, Smith has caught flak for partying it up before the Knicks game four loss to the Celtics.
The Knicks were able to move on and win the series, so no big deal. Now Smith is on the radar for allegedly partying to hard Saturday night, hours...
Sixth Man of the Year JR Smith is giving Knicks fans the opportunity to hop off the New York playoff bandwagon through his Instagram account.
Raymond Felton looks like he is enjoying Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals a bit more than Game 1. Check out Felton going off the glass to Kenyon Martin for a pretty nasty alley-oop during the third quarter on Tuesday night. Not a bad way to get the fans at MSG excited.

To many Knicks fans' displeasure, Coach Mike Woodson sometimes tends to prefer isolation offense more than anything else. Of course, there are times where Woodson is simply otherwise forced to depend on such offense, feeding the ball to the likes of Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith, milking them both for all they've got.As the Knicks know quite well, such a strategy still leaves...
This is probably a good time to mention that Iman Shumpert and Derrick Rose tore their ACLs on the same day last year.
Shumpert, whose knee injury has healed much faster than Rose’s, showed just how healthy he is on Tuesday. In the second quarter of the Knicks’ game against the Pacers, Shumpert rose up to rebound a miss by Chris Copeland and threw down the putback dunk in one...
In the second quarter of the Pacers – Knicks game 2 playoff matchup, Iman Shumpert came out of nowhere to throw down a crazy put-back dunk. Shumpert came back from his ACL injury last season and told me that he […]
New York Knicks fans definitely have an idea of the head-case that is J.R. Smith. They put up with it because, on most occasions, the Sixth Man of the Year Smith shows up for games. However, during the Knicks first round series against the Celtics and, after game one against the Indiana Pacers, the ugly Smith showed up. Why? Maybe because the Sixth Man has become the Party-Man...
Tweet The New York Knicks bounced back from a 102-95 loss to the Indiana Pacers on Sunday to even their series at one game apiece via a 105-79 thumping of the Pacers Tuesday night. If you didn’t catch any of the game you missed something of a dunk fest by New York. Iman Shumpert [...]
Iman Shumpert went all "Go Go Gadget Arms" on this putback dunk during the second quarter of the Knicks - Pacers Eastern Conference semifinals game two Tuesday.
There are few things that I enjoy more than poster dunks and during tonight’s Pacers/Knicks game two, Carmelo Anthony threw down a rather nasty dunk.
It happened in the third quarter of play as Anthony got past David West and put down a nasty two-handed stuff in the face of Pacers forward Jeff Pendergraph:
JR Smith took aim at some fans following the New York Knicks’ 102-95 loss to the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals at Madison Square Garden on Sunday night.
Rumors circulated late Saturday/early Sunday that Smith, who by his own admission has partied too much in the past, was out at a club late into the evening.
A tweet sent from The 40/40 Club in New...
