I covered the Massachusetts high school boys basketball state championship tonight, so I still haven’t seen the game yet. Which is why I’m a little confused that Marquis Daniels played more minutes (20) than any other Celtics reserve, Ray Allen notched just seven points in 42 minutes, and Greg Stiemsma did not have a quadruple double. It sounds like the Celtics rebounded really well again.Just kidding. Kenneth Faried = monster.

Marquis Daniels Likely To Be Waived

Celtics swingman, Marquis Daniels is being listed as one of the most likely candidates to be waived in the next few days as a measure to open up roster spots for the Celtics. Daniels started the season off strong, but has since lost significant minutes and now hardly plays due to ineffectiveness. The Celtics are [...]

Celtics Have Had Preliminary Discussions to Buy-Out Marquis Daniels

Follow me on Twitter @CLNS_Sean There has been speculation, even on CLNS Radio that the Boston Celtics were looking to part ways with Marquis Daniels. A. Sherrod Blakely of CSNNE.com has reported that the Celtics have indeed had preliminary talks to have Daniels agree to the buy-out. His agent commented on the subject to Blakely: [...]

Jackie Mac thinks Ray Allen’s gone after this season

I’m not sure whether Jackie MacMullan has sources or whether this is just her opinion, but she believes Ray Allen is gone after this season. (ESPN Boston)“I really do think Ray [Allen] will move on,” she said. “I think he’ll have some great opportunities to do so, I think he’s got some years left in him, and I think he’s a great sniper for a championship team —...

For Ray Allen, it's gotta be the shoes

CSNNE's Jess Camerato uncovered some interesting information about Ray Allen's choice of footwear: Allen entered the NBA in 1996 wearing a size 13 sneaker. As time went on, he went up to a 14. Just two years ago, he made another jump that has helped his performance and his health.“My feet were always hurting,” he told CSNNE.com. “I was at shootaround in Detroit...

Celtics win slugfest in Atlanta: BOS 79 ATL 76

The Boston Celtics were locked in a back and forth, chippy, close game at the Atlanta Hawks home stadium. In the fourth quarter, a Celtic run - highlighted by two Ray Allen threes - helped Boston build a lead as high as 15. The Hawks then went on a 16-4 run down the stretch and pulled back within one with 11.8 seconds left in the game. A pair of Ray Allen free throws and a missed...

Hawks bested by Celtics' late 13-0 run

ATLANTA (AP) -- Ray Allen hit two 3-pointers in Boston's 13-0 run in the fourth quarter and protected the lead with two free throws in the final seconds as the Boston Celtics held on to beat the Atlanta Hawks 79-76 on Monday night. The Celtics led 73-58 at the end of the run. Joe Johnson, who had 25 points, had three late 3-pointers as the Hawks rallied. Johnson's 3 with...

Celtics 79, Hawks 76: My eyeballs hurt

The NBA lockout occasionally leaves its imprint on an otherwise nondescript meeting between two middling Eastern Conference playoff teams, and tonight the lockout gods (or demons, rather) pushed dozens of shots wide right, or left, or short, or long.Even the game’s most exciting highlight, Jeff Teague’s tomahawk dunk on Ray Allen’s dome, resulted in a mistake. He screamed...

Celtics overcome Johnson, Hawks

Ray Allen isn't focused on the Celtics' modest seventh spot in the Eastern Conference standings or the two-game losing streak they brought to Atlanta. The 16-year veteran guard insists he likes this Boston team - especially when it plays as it did in the fourth quarter against the Hawks. Allen hit two 3-pointers in Boston's 13-0 run in the fourth quarter and protected...

Is Greg Stiemsma the Celtics' Top Bench Player?

The Celtics entered the season expecting their bench to be a strength. Jeff Green, Brandon Bass, Keyon Dooling and Marquis Daniels figured to be just the right amount of veteran leadship and young athleticism. Before the first game was even played, Green was lost for the season with an aortic aneurysm. Then Daniels seemed to lose his explosiveness and Dooling got hurt. If not for...

Recap: I watched this game because I had to

March 19, 2012 Dear Journal,  The journey was especially rough today.  The Red's Army team has had its difficulties tracking the Celtics this season, but this one was one of the worst. We lost two members on today's expedition.  Chuck crumpled to a broken heap before halftime.  I turned to KWAPT to help carry the broken, shattered, blubbering shell of a man Chuck...

Comments from the other side - Kings 3/16

Well, that was ugly. The Celtics played no defense. The Kings couldn't resist going for the win in spite of wanting more ping pong balls. I always worry when I hear the other team has a key player out. Always seems to either lull the Celtics in to a coma or excite the other team into a frenzy. Either way, the Celtics usually lose. Since the loss was so bad, maybe you'...

C’s better by doing nothing?

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and all the same guys are still here.  I’d like to that Danny Ainge for listening to me.  Everybody’s main concern now about the Celtics is their lack of big men; Greg Stiemsma is the only active true center on the roster.  But recent numbers show it might not be as great a problem as people think.  Since the All-Star break Boston...

Apocalypse Now: last days for Boston Celtics’ big three?

Despite the team’s struggles and general managerDanny Ainges’ constant trade threats, the Boston Celtics were not able to pullthe trigger on any trades before the trade deadline on Thursday. That doesn’t mean that Boston’s management is happy with theroster as currently constructed, it just means that they didn’t receive anytrade offers they felt would make the team better...
