Found March 14, 2013 on Double Coverage Football:
Ohio entered the 2012 season with an outside shot at being the first MAC team to reach the BCS, and though a late season sputter allowed Northern Illinois to make the trip to Miami in their place the Bobcats still made their way to the Independence Bowl, where they rocked LA-Monroe 45-14. Ohio's reward for the rout? This ugly ass trophy and a $78,569 tab. The Bobcats became the latest school to get absolutely raked over the coals financially by college football's absurdly outsourced postseason, as bowls have increasingly partnered with luxury hotels and resorts in addition to their expensive ticket requirements for participating teams. (Really, who's coming to Shreveport for a bowl game? Can we really blame Bobcats fans for this?) With the BCS disappearing after this season in favor of a four-team playoff many will expect the bowl issues to vanish with it, but for the 70ish other college teams that make the postseason the corrupt bowl system will continue to bankru...

Henderson's career night leads Bobcats to win

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Blowouts like Tuesday night's 100-74 game have become par for the course in Charlotte over the last two seasons. Nothing's commonplace though about the Bobcats being on the victorious end of one of them as they were here against the Celtics. Sure, Doc Rivers chose to rest Paul Pierce. Sure Rivers played his starters sparingly once the Bobcats grew a double...

Bobcats Double Last Year’s Win Total…Congratulations?

The Charlotte Bobcats are no-doubt celebrating(?), after having beaten the Boston Celtics last night to pick up their 14th win. And then, as if things couldn’t get any better, they went out and signed journeyman’s journeyman Jannero Pargo. Pargo’s role will primarily be to replace Ramon Sessions as Kemba Walker’s backup, and secondarily it will [...]

Bobcats blow out Celtics, halt skid

Gerald Henderson had a career-high 35 points, and the Charlotte Bobcats snapped a 10-game losing streak with a 100-74 win over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. Henderson was 11 of 19 from the field and knocked down all 12 of his foul shots. Ben Gordon scored 17 points and new starting forward Josh McRoberts had his first double-double for Charlotte with 13 points and 10 rebounds...

Gerald Henderson Deserves Chance to Play for Winner Sooner Rather Than Later As Guard Proves Against Celtics

Gerald Henderson‘s career night against the Celtics came with a bonus. With only seven other games taking place in the NBA on Tuesday, the soon-to-be restricted free agent should have had plenty of prospective future employers watching his performance. By the time he and the Bobcats conclude another losing season this spring, the fourth-year guard should garner some interest from...

Gerald Henderson and Bobcats maul the Celtics

The Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Boston Celtics 100 to 74 tonight at the Time Warner Cable Arena. This game was a slow paced, low energy half-court game which was to the detriment of this up-tempo post-Rondo injury Celtics team. Gerald Henderson went off for the Cats scoring his career high 35 points. The Celtics were without Pierce tonight and it clearly was a factor, making a...

Celtics player grades vs Charlotte Bobcats

The Charlotte Bobcats ran past the Celtics 100-74 ESPN Boxscore Celticslife Recap Player Grades: Players are graded on a curve Kevin Garnett: 5 Points, 2 Rebounds KG struggled mightily today in all aspects of the game, and Doc did the right thing by benching him early. Celtics Dominated by Bobcats 100-74

On Tuesday night the Celtics traveled to Charlotte to take on the Bobcats. This was the first game of arguably their easiest week of the year where Boston faces the Bobcats twice with the Toronto Raptors in between. Doc has begun preparation for the playoffs by choosing to sit some of the veterans in order to get extended rest. Tonight was Paul Pierce's first night off of...

Bobcats beatdown: Charlotte crushes Boston Celtics 100-74

Charlotte embarrassed the Celtics tonight. Final: Charlotte 100, Boston 74. For real.44 minutes ago via TweetDeckReplyRetweetFavorite@BaxterHolmesBaxter HolmesThere are a lot of numbers I could bring up to show how bad that game was (Kevin Garnett shot 2-10, the Celtics were 4-13 from 3-point range, and the Bobcats grabbed 16 offensive rebounds away from the Celtics). But…I just...

Bobcats-Raptors Preview

The Toronto Raptors look different than they did in two earlier meetings with the Charlotte Bobcats, but they will probably see the best of Gerald Henderson for the first time. Henderson looks to build on the most productive game of his career - a rare victory for the league-worst Bobcats - on Friday night in Toronto. These clubs have split two meetings, with both coming before...
