Pablo Prigioni is an international legend. He was the engine for the Argentina team that won the bronze medal in 2008, averaging 7.1 points per game and 4.6 assists per game. And he would have been a big contributor to this year's Olympic team if not for an injury suffered just before the London Games. Prigioni was 31 in 2008, and beginning the end of his prime years. Prigioni's international career is even more celebrated and passed largely outside American eyes. Prigioni led the Euroleague in assists while playing for Tau Ceramica in 2006 and was voted the best point guard in the ACB League in Spain (largely regarded as the second best league in the world) in 2006, 2007 and 2009. He has led his team to three Spanish King's Cups, four Spanish Supercups and the 2008 Spanish Championship. In Euroleague play, he has averaged 6.2 points per game and 4.4 assists per game in 25.0 minutes per game -- which equates to 9.9 points per 40 minutes and 7.0 assists per...

HE IS WHAT HE ISN'T

Carmelo done with scorer's role?

Knicks scoring machine Carmelo Anthony is saying he's "done trying to score 30, 35, 40 points for us to win a basketball game." Until he said he isn't done doing that.

Iman Shumpert Sports Incredible Flat-Top Afro for New York Knicks (Photo)

Iman Shumpert is the coolest person in the NBA. The New York Knicks guard sported an awesome flat-top afro and tweeted a photo of it on Monday. His 'do trumped all the serious news, like Andrew Bynum missing three weeks as a precaution after undergoing a knee procedure. Seriously, one look at Shumpert's hairstyle makes any discussion of platelet-rich plasma injections impossible...

New York Knicks Roster Depth Takes Pressure Off Carmelo Anthony

The New York Knicks have spent the off-season creating a veteran laden roster with their eyes on bringing a championship back to Manhattan. While the team needs Carmelo Anthony to continue to play like a superstar the roster depth will allow Anthony to focus less on scoring and take the rest of his game to [...] [[ This is a content summary only. Rasheed Wallace Rises From The Grave For Early Halloween

On Wednesday, I took a look at my phone and saw a text message from my friend, Tim, about the Knicks. Our exchange went a little something (exactly) like this: “Rasheed Wallace? What the [censored]” “We got him?” “From retirement!” Yes, Wallace came out of a two year retirement to play with Mike Woodson’s New York Knickerbockers. He is 38 years old, and when last he...

Ray Felton: "I've got a big chip on my shoulder"

The knock on Raymond Felton during his seven-year career has been about his weight and his overall shape. Year in and year out, it seems the only shape Felton has been in is “pear shape.” That was certainly the case in Portland last season where the point guard not only struggled with his conditioning but also his game averaging 11.5 points and 6.5 assists while shooting...

Memory Lane - Sheed's Back in the NBA

Well, the signing of Rasheed Wallace by the NY Knicks was made official today. As I think back to two years ago when Sheed played his last season with the Celtics and I'm wondering what in the world they are thinking. There were a few bright spots, but mostly I remember him jacking up ill advised threes and huffing and puffing up and down the court because he never got himself...

Knicks Day Video: The Night Willis Reed Fired Up The Garden

The New York Knicks franchise is full of many, and I mean many, history-making moments. From an NBA title, John Starks' dunk over the Bulls, players like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant tearing up the scoreboard to some of the NBA's greats wearing the Knicks uniform, there is no doubt New York truly is a Mecca for basketball. However, one moment is so undeniably unforgettable...

Glen Grunwald: Raymond Felton, not Jeremy Lin, ‘was the best option’

The New York Knicks have cleverly — and not so cleverly — dodged the Jeremy Lin question since the Knicks didn’t match the Houston Rockets offer sheet this summer. Now, Knicks GM Glen Grunwald is opening up about choosing Felton over Lin via The New York Post: “We felt Raymond Felton was the best [...]The post Glen Grunwald: Raymond Felton, not Jeremy Lin, ‘was the best...

VIDEO: Iman Shumpert remixes ‘Clique’…#Knickstape Style

Photo via knicksnow.com If you’ve been paying attention, the Brooklyn Nets have been aiming a lot of tough talk in the direction of the New York Knicks lately.  Talking about owning New York and all types of nonsense. Just the other day,  Andray Blatche tweeted: #bbpBox_251566282376351744 a { text-decoration:none; color:#0084B4; }#bbpBox_251566282376351744 a:hover { text-decoration...
