Paul George scored 23 points and Lance Stephenson had the first triple-double of his career, leading the perfect Indiana Pacers to a 95-79 victory Monday night over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Indiana became the NBA's seventh team to open 8-0 since 2000 - two more wins than the franchise's previous best start. And they followed a familiar script in the battle between last season's conference runner-ups by dominating the glass, dominating the second half and divvying up top honors.
Stephenson finished with 13 points, 11 rebounds and a career-high 12 assists. George Hill scored 13 points and Roy Hibbert added five more blocks to his NBA-leading total.
Memphis was led by Marc Gasol with 15 points and Zach Randolph with 12.
Indiana took control with a 13-3 run that started late in the third quarter and ended with the Pacers holding a 78-55 lead early in the fourth.
It was a frustrating night for the Grizzlies, who were well below their season average of 98.5 points and had t...

When Paul George looked up at the scoreboard Monday night and realized Lance Stephenson was closing in on a triple-double, he got right to work.
As George went on another scoring binge to help the Pacers pull away from Memphis, he wanted Stephenson to share the spotlight. So George quickly made a 20-foot jumper with 10:56 left in the game, giving Stephenson his 10th assist, then...
As the Indiana Pacers cruised by the Memphis Grizzles in tonight’s matchup, shooting guard Lance Stephenson received a technical foul for taunting Tony Allen by palming the ball in his face. The league frowns upon this type of behavior, stating to the NBA rule book:
If a player blatantly taunts an opponent, a technical foul shall be assessed. A PLAYER(S) GUILTY OF TAUNTING MUST...
Those who have followed Indiana Pacers guard Lance Stephenson since high school have no doubt seen him in various mixtapes and highlight reels over the years, like this one. Against Tony Allen and the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday Stephenson pulled a move he’s probably done on playgrounds plenty of times. The problem is, in the NBA you’ll...
Since Paul George made ZERO threes against the Grizzlies Monday night, I’m guessing that’s just an OK sign . . . meaning he’s OK with routing the Grizzlies to remain the NBA’s lone undefeated team. Just a hunch.
Okay, if we’re being honest with ourselves, you can’t say you didn’t see this coming.
Sure the Grizzlies put together an impressive game Saturday against the...
Pacers Lance Stephenson lived up to his nickname, “Born Ready” on Monday night. Stephenson got his first NBA triple-double, 13 points, 12 assists, 11 rebounds, and a tech for taunting.
I don’t consider that taunting. Isn’t that what Jordan used to do to opponents? Check out highlights from Lance’s triple-double. Pacers beat the Grizzlies 95-79.

The game had just completed, the streak remained intact, and Lance Stephenson sat down in front of his locker and found a Sharpie.
Stephenson had not experienced a night like Monday since high school, so he removed his red, white and blue And 1 high-tops and wrote a little message.
On the left shoe: “13 pt… 12 asst … 11 reb”
On the right: “Triple Double.”
The Indiana Pacers' Paul George and the Phoenix Suns' Markieff Morris today were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Mon., Nov. 4-Sun., Nov. 10.
George led Indiana to the only undefeated record in the Eastern Conference on the week (4-0). At 7-0, the Pacers are off to their best start in franchise history and are the...
I can only imagine what the odds would be on any team actually going through a season undefeated. When your season is 82 games long you know at some point you are eventually going to lose a game; its all a matter of time.
For the Indiana Pacers--the NBA's lone undefeated team--that time was not Monday night.
Lance Stephenson was hit with the ridiculous...
That’s the question everyone is asking as the Pacers have jumped out to an 8-0 start. Paul George seems ready to make the jump as an elite player as he’s off to a torrid start with 24.9 points per game, 7.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 47.9%. Check out the interview above where he discusses the new season and his desire to help get the Pacers over the top. The additions...
Paul George scored 24 points and the Indiana Pacers improved the NBA's only undefeated record and the best start in franchise history to 7-0 by beating the Brooklyn Nets 96-91 Saturday night.
David West added 18 points and hit the clinching free throws for the Pacers, who had won their first six games in 1970-71, when they played in the ABA. They have the longest winning streak...
After the Indiana Pacers improved to 7-0 Saturday night against the Brooklyn Nets, the sounds of scattered clapping and off-key singing escaped from the visitor’s locker room.
But by the time reporters were allowed in, half-dressed players had settled down and remembered their scripts.
Their repeated message: The undefeated streak is nice, but it’s only seven games.
