Found June 24, 2013 on Project Spurs:
With the 2012-13 NBA season over, some players will now be turning their attention to summer play with their respective countries for Olympic qualifying tournaments. For San Antonio Spurs French contingency of Tony Parker, Nando De Colo and Boris Diaw, that means summer play with Team France for Eurobasket 2013 in Slovenia. The trio have been named to the initial roster for Team France along with other French NBA players such as Ronny Turiaf, Evan Fournier and Nicolas Batum. Here is the complete 17-man preliminary roster: Among those invited are three players who play in Spanish clubs: Thomas Heurtel (Vitoria), Kim Tillie (CB Murcia) and Florent Pietrus (Valencia)   The list of 17 players who will be in 12 in the coming weeks, is composed by: Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs / USA), Leo Westermann (Partizan Belgrade / SRB), Antoine Diot (Paris-Levallois/FRA), Thomas Heurtel (Vitoria / ESP), Evan Fournier (Denver Nuggets / USA), Nando De Colo (San Antonio Spurs / USA), Yannick Bokolo (Gravelines / FRA), Edwin Jackson (ASVEL / FRA), Nicolas Batum (Portland Trail Blazers / USA ), Charles Kahudi (Le Mans / FRA), Mickaël Gelabale (Minnesota Timberwolves / USA), Boris Diaw (San Antonio Spurs / USA), Joffrey Lauvergne (Partizan Belgrade / SRB), Kim Tillie (CB Murcia / ESP), Florent Pietrus (Valence / ESP), Ronny Turiaf (LA Clippers / USA), Alexis Ajinca (Strasbourg / FRA).   Substitutes: Rudy Gobert (Cholet / FRA), Andrew Albicy (París-Levallois/FRA), Jean-Charles Livio (ASVEL / FRA), Jeremy Leloup (Strasbourg / FRA), Adrien Moerman (Limoges / FRA). EFE   Joakim Noah will not be part of the roster due to injury.   Of course the debate among most Spurs fans is always whether foreign players, such as Parker, should put their body through more wear and tear in the NBA offseason and risk injury, rather than rest up for the new season.   Parker had a long season, playing in the NBA Finals, and of course suffered an ankle injury during the regular season which sidelined him for a few games. Add the fact he is the Spurs primary offensive threat and Spurs fans (and perhaps coaching staff) will be a bit nervous.   De Colo and Diaw can use the play to keep in shape in the offseason and well as work on their game. Especially for Nando.   Eurobasket 2013 is set to kick off September 4-22 in Slovenia.   (via El Confidencial)

Popovich: Spurs To Remain On Course, Unlikely To Make Significant Changes To Roster

The San Antonio Spurs are unlikely to make significant changes to their roster after losing Game 7 of the NBA Finals. “People have been telling us we need to get younger 15 years ago,” Gregg Popovich said. “At one point I guess we will be too old. Who knows when that is? Going to the conference finals last year and the Finals this year proves something is going right. I think...

The winding road of Tracy McGrady

Throughout much of the Finals, Tracy McGrady has been an obsession for the media. T-Mac was once the superstar of the NBA, a legitimate scoring champion and one of the best players in the league. There were legitimate arguments between McGrady and Kobe Bryant when McGrady was in the league. That is something you can forget when you watch McGrady, now at 34 years old and a time...

Spurs Green denies partying with Heat after Finals loss

What do you do when your team suffers an agonizing defeat when a championship was within grasp? Well, if you're Danny Green, you go out to a Miami nightclub for a night of deafening loud music and mixed drinks. NBA Finals Recap: San Antonio Spurs collapse but legacy remains

The San Antonio Spurs were “oh so close” to bringing home their fifth NBA title in 15 years.  When I say “oh so close,” I mean they were up five points, and they were 28 seconds away from likely reeling in the Larry O’Brien trophy (key word being likely.)  ”It isn’t over ’till it’s over” and “it isn’t over ’till the fat lady sings” are phrases that will...

Tim Duncan should not feel 'haunted'

Tim Duncan has had a career of pure excellence. For 16 seasons, it has been all about consistent winning, key plays and making himself and his teammates better. Rarely does Duncan let anything emote from him in victory or defeat just expecting victory like he was born to do it -- and he very well might have been. Duncan has faced plenty of adversity in his career, but maintained...

The Spurs Are the 2013 NBA Champions, According To NBATV Mishap

The long-running joke after every major sports championship is that the loser automatically becomes the winner in whatever third-world country the unused, non-actual-champion t-shirts are sent to.
