Luckily for San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, he'll be back on the hardwood soon to try to forget the Spurs falling short of reaching the NBA Finals for the fifth time in franchise history.

Parker is headed to Paris to begin workouts with the French National Team before they begin their quest for Olympic gold in London later this summer, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

“Right now you think a lot of ‘if this and if that,’” he said, “and I will for another week, until the national team starts. I still have the Spurs in my mind and what I could do better and all the stuff we could do better, but you know with some ‘ifs’ you can re-do the whole world.

“It’s going to hurt for a while, and you use it as motivation for next year and come back strong next year and keep improving. That’s what I always try to do: Get better every year and start off strong.”

While in Paris, he'll see a familiar face who will also be looking to bounce back in teammate and housemate Boris Diaw.

Diaw will be a free agent and Parker is already doing his part to try to get the forward to return to San Antonio, especially after Diaw proved to be more than most fans expected during the playoffs.

“Obviously, he would love to stay,” Parker said. “He likes it here in San Antonio. It’s going to depend. There’s so many guys on our team — Timmy, Danny Green, Patty Mills — we’ve got a lot of different (free agent) guys, but I trust their judgment.”

Hopefully Parker will also be in the ear of another of his French teammates, Nicolas Batum, this summer about joining forces. With talk that Nando De Colo could be looking to come stateside, the Spurs could look a lot like Les Bleus next season.
