Anthony Davis had 17 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks, Anthony Morrow added 20 points and Eric Gordon scored 19 points for the Pelicans, who appeared in line for their fifth win in six games when they led by 14 near the end of the third quarter. Shannon Brown: Is the Risk Worth the Reward?

Looking at the San Antonio Spurs bench, one thing becomes clear; the Spurs have placed a high value on having players that shoot from the perimeter over players who rely strictly on their athletic ability. During the past couple of playoffs, this lack of athleticism has came back to haunt them. The Oklahoma City Thunder's athletic ability proved to be too much for the Spurs...

Belinelli finding smooth transition to Plan B trumps even best laid plans?

San Antonio Spurs guard Marco Belinelli has been one of the more interesting stories of the first half of the season for the Spurs. After his signing, most expected he'd play spot minutes, come into the game as a three-point threat when needed and work to acclimate himself to the Spurs and their infamous system and schemes that several former players have said takes a minimum...

Parker, Duncan lead Spurs’ comeback in win over Pelicans

With 9:26 minutes left in the fourth quarter on Monday, it looked like the San Antonio Spurs would not get over the hump in New Orleans, as the Pelicans had just taken an 82-70 lead. Patty Mills would knock down back-to-back jumpers for his own 5-0 run, then Danny Green, who had just rejoined the team prior to tip-off from a 10-game injury absence, would go on his own 5-0 run. Tony...

Spurs surge late in a battle of the depleted

As the San Antonio Spurs began their annual Rodeo Road Trip, their first stop in New Orleans nearly ended in embarrassing fashion. While the Spurs’ home, the AT&T Center, is filled with cowboys and kids alike cornering barrels and busting mutton, the Spurs will face nine consecutive opponents on the road.  A nine game road trip alone is a daunting task to escape from with...

Somebody Get Tim Duncan Some Smelling Salts

The Spurs took on the Pelicans in New Orleans last night and, judging from the looks of this GIF, Tim Duncan was no where near as excited for the game as the rest of his teammates. I guess we have to cut Timmy some slack here since he’s older than all of those guys and he still came to play with 21 points in a victorious effort. [Giphy] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Summing it up Unable to make a shot and barely able to check the host Pelicans for most of Monday’s game in New Orleans, the Spurs (35-13) were on the verge of pulling a face plant out of the gate on their 12th annual Rodeo Road Trip. They suddenly remembered how to play basketball over the final 11 minutes, more than making up for the ugliness of the preceding 37 to erase a 14...
