Football Extra Points:
Yeah you heard me correctly; I just compared Patrick Beverly - a rookie who the Rockets signed in January – to The King. I mean take a look at these playoff stats from the first round:
Lebron James (4 games): 24.5/6.8/7.8 (PPG/APG/RPG)
Patrick Beverly (5 games): 12.6/3.4/6
Ok fine, I’m clearly not talking about stats as Lebron doubles up Beverly in PPG and APG. But check out the crowd’s reaction to every time Beverly touched the ball in game 5 at OKC. When I heard the boos all I could think about was another player who did something so cruel to completely ruin any real chances of a team being good enough to win a championship; Lebron James leaving Cleveland.
Let’s first just look at their cruelty. Lebron left his hometown in the dirt and pompously went to Miami. Patrick Beverly saw an opportunity where Westbrook took his eye off the ball as he was about to call a timeout, so he pounced. He lunged forward and (hold your breath) tried to steal the basketball. Can you...

Oklahoma City Thunder guards Derek Fisher and Kevin Martin should be ashamed today after teaming up for a synchronized flop during Wednesday night's Game 5 of their NBA Western Conference first round playoff series against the Houston Rockets.
That's a gold medal winning performance right there.

Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant isn't worried about tweets from Houston rookie Royce White that say the Thunder are looking shaky.
''Who's he?'' Durant asked Friday at practice.
White is a first-round pick whose acknowledged anxiety disorder has kept him from playing for Houston this season. Earlier this week, White tweeted: ''Y'all are looking...
The shocking news of Russell Westbrook’s knee injury last week rapidly redefined the entire NBA playoff picture. Without their second leading scorer and leading assist maker, many experts predict the Oklahoma City Thunder losing in the second round to the winner of the Clippers-Grizzlies series. Quite a revelation considering the Thunder were a lock for the NBA Finals no more than...
Let's call it an "edge" Kevin Durant had in the Houston series. It's not that Durant has ever been soft, but since he entered the NBA he has been one of the most likable stars in American sports. Something changed, though, in this first-round series against the Houston Rockets.
In the series-clinching 103-94 win Friday in Houston, Durant got a technical foul for...
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Houston Rockets are heating up from 3-point range, just in time to avoid playoff elimination and create some drama in their first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After setting a franchise record for 3s in the regular season, Houston has steadily improved its accuracy over the course of the series against Oklahoma City before hitting 44 percent...
Yesterday we reported that Houston Rockets first-round draftee Royce White, was trolling Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant via Twitter on Wednesday night following their loss to the team he has yet to play for this season.
Well per the Houston Chronicle, when told of White’s cyber taunts towards him, Durant asked a legitimate question.
“Who is that?” Durant said...
The only thing more shameful than Scott Brooks’ desperate Hack-Asik strategy during Houston’s 107-100 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday was this tandem flop by defensive black holes Derek Fisher and Kevin Martin.
Wait, what’s that? You want the remix? Gladly:

Despite the NBA’s best efforts to put the kibosh on the troublesome scourge that flopping has become in its league, during the regular season as well as in the playoffs, practitioners of the dark art continue to come up with new and inventive ways to commit the heinous act.
During Wednesday night’s Game 5 showdown between the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake...
Carlos Delfino is out for the remainder of the playoffs with a fractured right foot.
“Carlos has played a large role in our success so far this season and we are disappointed for him that he will not be able to finish out this playoff run,” said Daryl Morey. “Carlos would love nothing more than to be out there with his teammates as they prepare for tonight’s Game 6, but this...
We saw a rare thing during Thursday night’s Game 5 between the Thunder and Rockets. As Houston center Omer Asik drove to the basket, both Kevin Martin and Derek Fisher attempted to take the charge at the exact same time – a double charge. They were successful as the officials ruled it an offensive foul on Asik.
The 2004 Yankees will tell you how easy it is for a playoff series to get away from you. I vividly remember the cover of the sports section of the NYTimes on the day of game 4 against the Red Sox and there were brooms all over it, as they approached a sweep. Just a few days later, the Yankees were eliminated by their long-time rival, and before they knew it, the curse of the Bambino...
Royce White hasn’t played a minute of NBA basketball this season. As a matter of fact, we don’t know if or when we’ll ever see him touch the court. On Wednesday night, White was a spectator like the rest of us enjoying playoff basketball as his Rockets faced off against the Oklahoma City Thunder for their playoff livelihood.
Following the Rockets scrappy comeback win, White...
