This tissue is called the plantar fascia. It connects the heel bone to the toes and creates the arch of the foot. Gasol is listed as probable against the Portland Trail Blazers. He has already missed eight games this season with tendinitis in both knees. The Lakers did catch a break Thursday as center Dwight Howard will not be suspended just fined. The NBA fined Howard $35,000 for his flagrant foul on Denver Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried. According to a release from the league, "Howard made excessive contact with Faried above the shoulders."
