Maybe it’s because it has become clear that he may be with the Lakers for the long haul. Or maybe it’s because he recently got a vote of confidence from his buddy ole pal, Kobe Bryant. Or maybe it’s just because Gasol has decided to actually pick up a dumbbell or two this summer. We’ll go ahead and let you know that it’s the latter. “I have been preparing myself and working to get better this summer,” Gasol, a two-time National Basketball Association (NBA) champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, told reporters at a news conference. “First for the Olympics and to perform at a high level to be able to achieve our goal, and then when the Olympics are over, take a little break and continue to prepare myself for what’s going to be a very demanding (NBA) season, a season where we (the Lakers) want to get back on top as a team.” NBA team mate Kobe Bryant took n

Lakers Rumors: Lakers Speak to Andrew Bynum About Contract Extension

Financially, it makes more sense for Bynum to play out the year and become a free agent. Then if he chooses to resign with the Lakers he can make millions more. Report: Los Angeles Lakers talk extension with Andrew Bynum

The keyword here is ‘talk’ as it still remains seen if the Los Angeles Lakers could develop a package — with or without the help of a third team — to sway the Orlando Magic to trade indecisive Dwight Howard to the team. However, the Lakers do have to move forward if the talks [...]

Kobe Bryant is the old guy on Team USA. At 33 he's four years older than the next older player on the team and has been in the league five years longer than anyone else. Kobe looked like he slowed down two seasons ago, then had a bit of a rejuvenation this season. Kobe talked to reporters including Jeremiah Tittle of the Guardian this week as Team USA gets ready for the Olympics...

Andrew Bynum Trade Rumors

Patrick did us the favor or writing up an article over at SportsBetting.com regarding a possible Andrew Bynum trade. It involves Dwight Howard, who would probably have to guarantee the Lakers that he would resign with them for the trade to go through, and I’m not sure if he’s genuinely capable of making such a commitment to anyone at this point or possibly ever. Bynum would be...
