Larry Brown Sports:
Pau Gasol received a nice ovation from Lakers fans as he exited what might be his final game with the team.
Gasol left the Lakers’ 103-82 series-ending loss to the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 on Sunday with under three minutes in the contest. As he exited, he received an applause and special recognition from the Los Angeles fans. Gasol became emotional and later appeared to have tears in his eyes.
Gasol was traded to the Lakers in the middle of the 2007-2008 season and helped the team reach the finals three times. They lost to the Boston Celtics in 2008, but they won the title the next two years.
This season, Gasol battled knee and foot problems and had his least impressive statistical season since joining the team. He only played in 49 games and started 42 of them.
There has been speculation that Gasol, who is due $19.28 million next season, could be released by the Lakers via the amnesty clause. We wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not back with the team next season.

While I don’t think this is what it appears, many have questioned whether or not Lakers center Dwight Howard yelled at GM Mitch Kupchak on his way into the tunnel after being ejected. Watch for yourself below and you decide. Thanks to Blacksportsonline for the footage.
Well, unfortunately the Los Angeles Lakers season has come to an end tonight, as they suffered their first sweep in like a million years, at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs. The Los Angeles Lakers are wrapping up for the summer, their largely disastrous season ended with a first-round playoff sweep.
But the drama is merely paused for a few weeks.
The Lakers' offseason could be just as tumultuous as their highly anticipated season, which ended with a whimper.
Dwight Howard's unrestricted free agency, coach Mike D'Antoni's job status...

The Los Angeles Lakers were eliminated from the 2013 NBA Playoffs in four games by the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, finishing a season in which beloved owner Jerry Buss passed away, Mike Brown was fired and controversially replaced by Mike D'Antoni, Kobe Bryant tore his Achilles tendon amid countless other injuries and the team was unable to fully incorporate Dwight Howard.
Kobe Bryant appeared on the Lakers bench Sunday night in the third quarter. The goal of course was to provide moral support to a team that was clearly being swept out of the first round of the playoffs and not to make a sartorial statement in Givenchy and crutches but somehow, he managed to do both.
Givenchy is the jock’s go to look of the moment. Last summer you saw LeBron James...

With Kobe Bryant watching the game from the sidelines and nursing a torn Achilles tendon, many have accused Howard...
