No Guts, No Glory:
It has been discussed ad nauseum that things aren’t working in Los Angeles for the Lakers this season. And Steve Nash has gone as far as to say that things probably won’t get much better in LA this season.
Lost in the Lakers struggles is the fact that Pau Gasol seems to be the odd man out in this new regime of the team. While Kobe, Nash, and Howard have logged many minutes in attempt to figure things out, Gasol has found himself parked on the bench at times. Something that Gasol doesn’t seem to like all that much.
So when TJ Simers of the LA Times spoke to Gasol about his future in LA, Gasol basically gives an indication that if certain things don’t change there will not be a future for him in LA. Namely changes at the head coaching position and in the frontcourt.
“If this coach stays and Dwight Howard remains with the Lakers,” [Simers] asked, “what about you?”
