It is hard to imagine that someone can go nine years without shaving their beard, and it is even harder to imagine how weird it must feel now that it is gone. Pau Gasol of the Lakers can explain both feelings as he shaved his beard on Thursday for the first time in nine years after losing a bet to his brother Mark. The best part is that he did it in support of the Gasol Foundation which you can learn more about HERE. Tomorrow I'll finally shave due to the bet I had with @MarcGasol for the #TheHealthyCompetition , an iniciatiave of the @GasolFoundation ! — Pau Gasol (@paugasol) September 11, 2013 A bet is a bet! I lost against @MarcGasol in an initiative of our @GasolFoundation Do you wanna see me shaving? http://t.co/2ydl3XUW42 — Pau Gasol (@paugasol) September 12, 2013 [H/T Beyond The Buzzer] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

A post about a Lakers player flirting with singer via Twitter? Yep, it’s most definitely still the off-season.
Earlier today, Nick Young took part “Woman Crush Wednesday” – otherwise known as WCW – when he tweeted about his “interest” in Australian-born singer Iggy Azalea:
#WCW would have to be iggy azalea— Nick Young (@NickSwagyPYoung) September 11, 2013

Today marks a day in history that most Americans will not soon forget (and shouldn't). I am sure that many of you saw people with American flags draped over the overpass of a freeway today along with 'Never Forget' signs.
The idea is to honor and remember the people that died that day and have died since. I am sure that was what the Los Angeles Lakers intended with...
If the Lakers were looking to offend a few people and confuse just about everyone else, they succeeded.
Twitter was loaded with 9/11-themed messages on Wednesday, the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The tweets ranged from touching and personal to curious and questionable, with the Lakers pushing hard to lead the latter group.

The Lakers are perennially among the NBA’s leaders in television appearances, but this is a little bit different. Legendary coach Phil Jackson and his fiancee, Lakers vice president Jeanie Buss, will reportedly serve as executive producers for a new cable television series about a family that owns a professional basketball team, sound familiar?
Pau Gasol is a man of his word. The Lakers forward shaved his beard for the first time in nine years Thursday after losing a bet, regarding The Gasol Foundation, to brother, Marc Gasol.
The history of the Los Angeles Lakers suggests they should be able to bring aboard a major star in 2014, when they could have large salary cap space. Some members of the Lakers' management, however, have long faces -- particularly when it comes to potentially signing LeBron James next summer.
"Within the organization there isn't a single person that believes we can bring...
If people thought that a golf course advertising a $9.11 special on 9/11 was cause for uproar, then this post on the Los Angeles Lakers' official Twitter account is sure to result in a few angry phone calls and emails:
The post has already been deleted , but thankfully Deadspin preserved the screen grab you see above before it could be erased from the Internet. I'm not so...
Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal are considered by many to be the greatest one-two punch to ever step on a basketball court. Over their eight years together – which were far from easy at times – the pair made four NBA Finals appearances and won three championships, but what was it like when these two NBA legends first met each other?
Bryant recently told Jimmy Kimmel that...
ESPN.com is reporting that the Mavs have signed former Lakers forward Devin Ebanks to a non guaranteed contract.
The 6-foot-9 Ebanks played three seasons for the Los Angeles Lakers after being selected with the 43rd overall pick in the 2010 draft.
He has career averages of 3.6 points and 1.9 rebounds in 63 games.
It’s not hard to get a mental image of someone in the Lakers’ marketing department, mallet in hand, relentlessly trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole.
That’s essentially what the Lakers did Wednesday when they tweeted a photo of Kobe Bryant, circa 2001, along with the words “#NEVERFORGET” in a ham-handed attempt at a 9/11 remembrance. The reaction from fans and...
Last Thursday, two wives of the biggest names in the NBA game got dinner together in West LA as Vanessa Bryant (Kobe Bryant’s wife) and La La Anthony (Carmelo Anthony’s wife) grabbed some grub at trendy Madeo restaurant.
Below is an Instagram image of the two smiling together that Kobe’s wife posted to her account:

Apparently this "former NBA player/coach/whatever turned executive producer for whatever reason thing" is becoming a trend. First, LeBron James decided to help develop a pseudo-reality show with Starz, and now we have Phil Jackson teaming up with Showtime.
Showtime is developing a one-hour scripted drama set behind the scenes of a pro basketball...
The Dallas Mavericks have signed Devin Ebanks.
Ebanks was a second round pick in 2010 out of West Virginia by the Los Angeles Lakers.
