That NBA Lottery Pick:
This just in: Phil Jackson might be coming back to your television screen!
Okay, we’ll have to explain this one. It appears that Phil and his wife, Jeanie Buss have been tabbed to work on a scripted project for Showtime along with Ron Shelton (noted for his work on Tin Cup and White Men Can’t Jump)
We’ll let the folks over at Variety tell you the rest:
Showtime is developing a one-hour scripted series that takes a peek behind the scenes of a professional basketball team, with NBA coaching great Phil Jackson and current Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Kurt Rambis on board as exec producers. The series will focus on the family that owns the team, according to details provided by the CBS Corp. pay-cable service.
Jeanie Buss, the senior vice president of the Los Angeles Lakes and Linda Rambis will executive produce via production company, Street Reason Entertainment.
“Looking forward to developing this drama for Showtime with Ron Shelton, who knows how to create intriguing, complex characters with stories set in the back drop of professional sports,” said Buss in a statement provided to Variety.

A post about a Lakers player flirting with singer via Twitter? Yep, it’s most definitely still the off-season.
Earlier today, Nick Young took part “Woman Crush Wednesday” – otherwise known as WCW – when he tweeted about his “interest” in Australian-born singer Iggy Azalea:

When something goes right for the Los Angeles Lakers, Mitch Kupchak gets all the credit and when something goes wrong, Jim Buss gets all the blame. And Jeanie Buss? Many fans want her to replace her brother and work alongside Kupchak.
That’s the way things work these days in Lakerland.
Many on the outside are worried about the future direction of the franchise seeing as the man...
Today marks a day in history that most Americans will not soon forget (and shouldn't). I am sure that many of you saw people with American flags draped over the overpass of a freeway today along with 'Never Forget' signs.
The idea is to honor and remember the people that died that day and have died since. I am sure that was what the Los Angeles Lakers intended with...
If the Lakers were looking to offend a few people and confuse just about everyone else, they succeeded.
Twitter was loaded with 9/11-themed messages on Wednesday, the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. The tweets ranged from touching and personal to curious and questionable, with the Lakers pushing hard to lead the latter group.

Kobe Bryant will play in 2013-14, but might not be ready for Oct. 29.

LeBron James has no idea what he’s going to do in free agency, and that suits the Lakers just fine. TrueHoop is reporting that most of the major players within the Lakers organization honestly don’t believe that they’ll be able to sway James into becoming Laker. “Within the organization there isn’t a single person that believes we can bring LeBron aboard,” one source...
The history of the Los Angeles Lakers suggests they should be able to bring aboard a major star in 2014, when they could have large salary cap space. Some members of the Lakers' management, however, have long faces -- particularly when it comes to potentially signing LeBron James next summer.
"Within the organization there isn't a single person that believes we can bring...
If people thought that a golf course advertising a $9.11 special on 9/11 was cause for uproar, then this post on the Los Angeles Lakers' official Twitter account is sure to result in a few angry phone calls and emails:
The post has already been deleted , but thankfully Deadspin preserved the screen grab you see above before it could be erased from the Internet. I'm not so...
Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal are considered by many to be the greatest one-two punch to ever step on a basketball court. Over their eight years together – which were far from easy at times – the pair made four NBA Finals appearances and won three championships, but what was it like when these two NBA legends first met each other?
Bryant recently told Jimmy Kimmel that...
The Lakers have to be the front-runner for the oddest 9/11 themed tweet in all 12-years since the horrendous events took place.
The team’s Twitter page has since taken down the tweet and picture, but we will forever have it, because it’s the internet.

Phil Jackson might have stepped into to phase three of his Hall of Fame career. Jackson is set to executive produce a new Showtime series that centers on a family that owns a professional basketball team.
