Nick Young was upset when he wrongly thought that ESPN had predicted the Lakers to be the 12th team in the league next season – just imagine how he felt when he found out the ranking was actually 12th in the Western Conference. According to ESPN, Young is upset by the prediction, yet he understands that many people are writing the Lakers off next season and he’s ready to help...

League executive says Jim Buss is “underestimated, smarter than Jeanie”

Jim Buss gets a lot of bad press and a hard time from the fans, yet one league executive feels as if the son of the legendary Dr. Jerry Buss is misunderstood. According to Ric Bucher, who did a in-depth piece on the Buss family for the Hollywood Reporter, one unnamed league executive said that Jim was “underestimated” and “smarter” than his sister, Jeanie: But one league...

Mitch Kupchak: Lakers ‘clumsy’ informing Phil Jackson of Mike D’Antoni hire

The Los Angeles Lakers took a lot of heat for a number of reasons when they chose to hire Mike D’Antoni over Phil Jackson last season. For starters, Jackson is a legend in LA and he was clearly interested in returning to the team he coached to five NBA titles. In addition, most people felt […]

ESPN’s recent prediction for the Lakers next season has enraged many of the Lakers’ players, but how do the fans feel – do you think the Lakers will finish higher than 12th in the West next season? Nick Young takes shot at rapper Drake in interview

Of all the NBA players who I think would take a shot at Canadian rapper Drake, Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young wasn’t one of them. However, Nick took a parting shot at the rapper whose real name is Aubrey Graham in an interview that he did with Dime Magazine: Dime: There’s a lot of buzz about Kendrick Lamar right now on the West Coast. Many people have been calling you...

Mike D’Antoni Says Steve Nash & Pau Gasol’s Minutes Will be Limited

That became increasingly apparent for Los Angeles Lakers head coach Mike D’Antoni, when both men struggled to remain healthy for the majority of last season. Phil Jackson Says The 90’s Pistons Were The Hardest To Coach Against

With 11 championship rings, retired NBA coach Phil Jackson is arguably the best to ever do it. One of the most amazing things is that he was able to consistently put together championship teams during some of the NBA’s most competitive years. So what team does the Zen master say gave him the most trouble? None other than the Bad Boy Detroit teams of the early 1990’s. “The Detroit...

Phil Jackson has no intention to coach

There are few truths in this world. One appears to be the Lakers wanting Phil Jackson to be their head coach. Whether Jeanie Buss, Jackson's fiance(?), talks about the possibility of Phil returning more or not, the two are tied together and, thus, the franchise is tied to Jackson. Let Phil Jackson put the kibash on that notion right now. . . for now. Jackson told the...

D’Antoni Says Lakers Chemistry Will Be Better Without Dwight Howard

Technically, this is true. At least the Lakers don’t have the Dwightmare hanging over their head anymore, but at this point the Lakers need to move on. Dwight wasn’t the only problem the Lakers had last season. Addition by subtraction? The Lakers can only hope, despite their very public courting of Howard that started a mere eight weeks ago and crashed and burned barely a week...
