This photo of Brian Scalabrine from the Warriors' Media Day looks like he was beat up and given two black eyes.
BEST OF MAXIM
We don’t have really info on this photo except that it is reported to have come from the Warriors’ media day on Monday, and the White Mamba looks like he got touched up. If it is real this could go down as one of the best pictures to come out of any NBA media day. Article found on: Next Impulse Sports
Brian Scalabrine, ever ready to do whatever his team asks of him, appears to have taken the meaning of the word “Warrior” a bit too literally upon joining Golden State.
Scalabrine, new to the team this year, was on hand for media day last week, an activity that included him getting his photo taken. He obliged — wearing a little natural face paint in the form of a black eye...
Brian Scalabrine is now an assistant with the Warriors. He showed up today looking like he stumbled into the gym straight from a fight at a strip club.
Just more proof that whatever Scal does is awesome.
A question we need answered right this minute: What happened to Brian Scalabrine?
The great Scal, who – after a glorious NBA career – recently signed on to become an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors this offseason, showed up to his Warriors photoshoot in rough shape. If the photo below, brought to our attention by Slam’s Adam Figman, isn’t doctored, Scal looked...
Last year, in his media gig with Boston, Brian Scalabrine was facing off against division 1 stars in the Toucher and Rich Scallenge.
This year, with a new gig as a Warriors assistant, he's apparently playing prisoners in San Quentin and maybe getting elbows to the face. At least that's what Toucher and Rich speculated this morning. So far, it's the only explanation we...
I don’t know who or what happened to Brian Scalabrine’s face, but it looks like he caught the wrong end of something. If he was the winner, I would hate to see the other guy. Bad timing too for the new Warriors assistant coach right before picture day at the new job.
If you think the G.O.A.T. Brian Scalabrine looks bad, just wait ’til you see the grizzly bear.
(Alas, the real reason for the black eye is going to disappoint you.)
In case you didn’t know, Brian Scalabrine is currently an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors and since Golden State had their media day, he got a chance to take his first official photo with the organization.

How did Scala get...
Warriors head coach Mark Jackson teamed up with Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers and members of the coaching staff and front office including Brian Scalabrine (his participation may explain this Media Day photo) to play a pickup game against inmates at the San Quentin Prison in California.
Mark Jackson spoke about the experience with Inside Bay Area:
“I just want people to know...
A couple weeks ago, Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson, Warriors GM Bob Myers, assistant coach Brian Scalabrine along with a host of others front office members got a chance to play some pick-up hoops at San Quentin prison.
Below is a video taken by folks over at Inside Bay Area which shows the inmates playing against Marc along with the other front office members:
Yesterday, we noted that Golden State Warriors assistant coach Brian Scalabrine took a media day photo with a black eye and today, the fine folks over at Deadspin found Rasheed Wallace’s first ever coaching media day photo.
It’s almost a mix between a guy working at Best Buy or someone going to their kid’s graduation:
