San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich once said he tends to spend time at his wine cellar at his home especially after losses. This past weekend, at the Annual Tux & Tennies gala, it appears some of Popovich's limited edition Rock & Hammer pinot noir was enjoyed by attendees.
The wine, named after the famous Jacob Riis quote hanging in the Spurs locker room, is part of the Oregon-based A to Z Wineworks Popovich is part owner of. A to Z also produces Popovich's Silver Black, a red wine.
While Spurs fans will hope Popovich won't have to make too many trips out to his wine cellar for the remainder of this season, Pop does seem to be building quite the wine collection over at A to Z. I'm thinking another red wine named after Matt Bonner could be his next hit.

When San Antonio Spurs NBA MVP candidate Tony Parker went down with a left ankle injury, the first thought that comes to mind for fans is the worst.
The possibility of losing Parker for the rest of the season was bad, but the silver and black faithful's hearts sank at the thought of having no hope for a championship this season.
Fast forward to more than a week later...
Manu Ginobili said Kobe Bryant is more important to his team than Tony Parker is to the Spurs

The most important thing that happened regarding the San Antonio Spurs this week was their win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Maybe earlier in the season blowout losses to Minnesota and Portland would have been worth more consternation and while it's possible those losses could cost the Spurs the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference, all signs point to a Spurs-Thunder conference...

Kevin Durant finished with 26 points against the defensive duo of San Antonio Spurs' Kawhi Leonard and Stephen Jackson. The lanky swingmen consistently hounded the NBA's defending three-time scoring champion, forcing him into the least efficient areas of the court -- particularly in spots where Tim Duncan and Tiago Splitter could alter the 6-foot-9 forward's shot.
