MILWAUKEE -- Greg Monroe scored 12 of his game-high 26 points in the third quarter as Detroit pulled away for a 103-87 over the Bucks Friday at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Monroe went 5 of 7 during the quarter and also pulled down four rebounds -- finishing with 11 and was one of four Pistons to score in double-digits. Brandon Knight scored 20 with five assists. Kyle Singler and Jason Maxiell each added 10 points as Detroit won for the seventh time in nine games. Detroit overcame a poor second quarter and took charge in the third, holding Milwaukee to 5 of 21 shooting and forcing four turnovers, which the Pistons converted into six points. At one point, Milwaukee missed 10 consecutive shots and was outscored 33-11 during the period. Up by 14, the Pistons opened the fourth with a 9-2 run, making it a 21-point game with 9:57 to play. Milwaukee wouldn't get within single-digits the rest of the way. Milwaukee finished with just one 3-pointer on 16 attempts and shot 39.6 percent (36 of 91) from the field. Brandon Jennings and Beno Udrih led the Bucks with 15 points each, which saw its two-game winning streak under new head coach Jim Boylan snapped. A 20-6 second-quarter run helped Milwaukee erase a five-point deficit after one. Udrih went 6 of 6 from the field to score 13 points of the Bucks' 29 points during the quarter as the team shot 68.4 percent from the field to take a 49-41 lead into halftime. NOTES: Monta Ellis was in the starting lineup Friday for Milwaukee despite suffering an injury to his left ankle Wednesday against Chicago. Ellis has started all 34 of Milwaukee's games this season. ... Detroit is playing its first game in four days. After hosting Utah Saturday night, the Pistons will have another four days off before traveling to England to face the Knicks in London Jan. 17 ... Heading into Friday's game, Larry Sanders had recorded four or more blocks in five straight games, the longest streak for a Bucks player since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it in eight straight games in 1973-74 ... Milwaukee has won two straight since snapping a four-game losing streak that began Dec. 30 with a 96-94 loss at Detroit ... Pistons forward Charlie Villanueva has 43 three-pointers since Nov. 25, the fourth-most in the NBA during that stretch ... Monroe is one of only three players averaging at least 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists per game this season.
