Detroit Pistons center Ben Wallace was sentenced to one year or probation on charges of drunken driving and gun possession.
The charges stemmed from a traffic stop on Sept. 24, when Wallace was arrested after his vehicle was stopped in Bloomfield Township, Mich.
Wallace's blood-alcohol level was 0.14, and an unloaded gun registered to his wife was found in a backpack in the vehicle.
He pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of drunken driving and firearm possession in exchange for having a felony gun charge dropped.
Wallace is a 15-year veteran, four-time Defensive Player of the Year and two-time rebounding champion.
