A stingy defense in the paint and a poor shooting Cavs team gave the Pistons a 89-79 win and their fifth straight victory at The Palace.
Brandon Knight led the way for Detroit with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists as the Pistons move to 5-3 at home after starting the season 0-8.
Detroit combined for 13 blocks, five of which came from Jason Maxiell who also had 12 points as the Cavaliers shot just .337 from the field.
The Pistons were able to take control of the game early making up for a poor shooting night Saturday in Dallas by converting 13 of 21 first quarter field goals on their way to a 30-17 lead after the first. This eventually transitioned to a 56-39 halftime lead for Detroit, their second most point total in the first half since they scored 58 against the Rockets the first game of the season.
