The Pistons have signed forward Eugene Omoruyi to a 10-day contract, the team announced in a press release.
Omoruyi, 26, is 6-foot-7 and was recently waived by the Thunder. In 23 appearances this season, he is averaging 4.9 points and 2.3 rebounds, shooting 47 percent from the field.
He also appeared in 13 games with the Oklahoma City Blue of the G League, compiling averages of 17.5 points, 5.7 rebounds.
A native of Ontario, Canada, Omoruyi appeared in four games with the Mavericks as a rookie in 2021-22. He will wear No. 97 for the Pistons.
Detroit (15-48) is just playing out the string with an eye on the NBA Draft lottery, and can afford to give tryouts to less-experienced players such as Omoruyi. They recently waived center Nerlens Noel, creating room on the roster.
