The undermanned Spurs team, playing without Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, were able to grind out a win over an even more undermanned Hawks team without Josh Smith, Devin Harris, Kyle Korver and Al Horford and DeShawn Stevenson. But, the 2-point victory didn’t sit well with coach Popovich who called the win “pathetic.” According to ESPN: “In general, other than Timmy, in a lot of ways it was a pathetic performance,” Popovich said. “That kind of play isn’t going to get us very far at the end of the season. It’s not the first time we’ve played like that in the last few weeks. This team needs to get its head around itself and understand what it takes to be there, because as a group, they don’t have it right now.”

State of the Spurs: Showing their age

Over the last week the Spurs have played the Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder, and have lost three of those games. There was a win over the Orlando Magic in there to keep this from being some kind of losing streak, but the Spurs are not playing...
