SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Gregg Popovich says he doesn't know if the San Antonio Spurs will appeal a 250,000 fine from the NBA for sending four of his top players home to rest instead of them playing the Miami Heat.
Popovich said before Saturday night's game against Memphis that he was "disappointed" in the decision by NBA Commissioner David Stern. It was the first comments from the Spurs coach since the league handed down the penalty Friday.
Popovich said any considerations about an appeal would be done privately.
Asked whether he would make the same decision as he did against the Heat on Thursday, Popovich said, "I don't have a crystal ball."
Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green flew home instead of playing the last stop on a six-game road trip.
