The Lakers may have suffered a devastating, humiliating, humbling defeat at the hands of the lowly Orlando Magic on Sunday, but Ron Artest actually had himself quite the offensive outing.  World Peace scored 15 points, made the 1,000th three-pointer of his career, and got the Lakers off the schneid with this driving slam dunk over a much younger and slightly taller Moe Harkless… Moments later, RonRon nearly threw down another jam… but he couldn’t get his steps quite right and had to settle for an extremely-awkward layup instead. Being that the second one would’ve been been completely uncontested, Moe Harkless had to feel pretty bad about himself at that point. I mean, sh!t, he got dunked on by a guy who sometimes struggles throw down in the open court. That’s rough. Kobe To Struggling Pau Gasol: Put Your Big Boy Pants On

Before Mike D’Antoni, Pau Gasol was averaging 37 minutes a game, with D’Antoni he has trouble seeing the fourth quarter and his minutes have dropped to 31 a game. He’s struggled to fit into D’Antoni’s system alongside Howard and is forced to play away from the basket, something he isn’t accustomed to. He’s shooting 39.3% from the field in this new system. So, what’s...

Kobe Bryant: “I’ll kick everybody’s ass in the locker room” if Lakers don’t improve

Tweet Things are getting testy in Los Angeles. Speaking to the media after the Lakers’ 113-103 loss to the Orlando Magic, Kobe Bryant in classic Kobe fashion had some choice words regarding the team’s struggles: “I’ll kick everybody’s ass in this locker room if it doesn’t happen,” Bryant said. “It’s the attitude you have to [...]

Big Baby’s Block on Pau Gasol (Video)

This is a highlight that no one predicted that occurred midway through the third quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic game Sunday evening.  Pau Gasol hoped to score an easy basket, but Glen “Big Baby” Davis comes from underneath to deny, deny, deny, the Laker Big. Orlando would end up scoring 40 points [...]The post Big Baby’s Block on Pau Gasol (Video) appeared...

Kobe Wants Gasol to “Put on His Big Boy Pants” After Loss to Magic

For the second time in five games, Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol watched the final minutes of the fourth quarter from the sidelines. Kobe Bryant says that Gasol has to take it into his own hands to change that. “Put your big-boy pants on,” Bryant said after the Lakers’ 113-103 loss to the Orlando Magic on Sunday that dropped the team’s record to just 8-9. “Just adjust...

Glen Davis’ big block on Pau Gasol

In the battle of the not-so-athletic, Glen “Big Baby” Davis walks away the victor after stuffing Pau Gasol’s dunk attempt on Sunday night in Los Angeles. This rejection came with about 5:30 to go in the 3rd quarter and stopped a jam that would have put the Lakers up by two points. Not only did the undersized power forward (Davis) swat the 7-foot Gasol’s attempt to flush...

Rockets rally to slip past slumping Lakers

HOUSTON -- In complete control for the majority of Tuesday's game, the Los Angeles Lakers collapsed down the stretch and watched the Houston Rockets swipe an improbable 107-105 victory at Toyota Center on Tuesday night. It was not the way the Lakers hoped to open a three-game road trip. The Rockets (9-8) trailed by as many as 17 points and didn't take their first lead...

Magic let it ride out West

A let down would have been understandable for the Magic as they traveled upstate from an emotional victory over the Lakers on Sunday night. Even Orlando fans might have excused it thanks to the gravity of what defeating Dwight Howard meant to a lot of fans. Jacque Vaughn though called it a "typical win." Again, it certainly was not that. But maybe it is becoming...

Starting 5: Satisfaction

Every morning, we will give you five things from the night before in the NBA to start your day. 1: Magic had something to prove Jameer Nelson was maybe the only guy willing to admit what Sunday's 113-103 win against Dwight Howard the Lakers actually meant. While Jacque Vaughn called it just another game and Glen Davis siad he was not worried about what Dwight Howard was...

Magic-Jazz Preview

The Orlando Magic posted disappointing results over the season's first full month but have significantly picked up the pace in December. The slumping Utah Jazz, in contrast, haven't been able to get much going of late.
